Dane frowned as he once again tried the bars and noticed how they simpy wouldn’t budge. What had he done to get into a place like this? Why was he ot allowed to go home. All he wanted suddenly was to be allowed outside and to feel his feet on the grass. He hated being locked in places, it made him feel like he had somehow lost all freedom.
“I want to go home!” he yelled out at the nurses and doctors but he knew no one was going to pay attention. He had been put in here because he had taken too many drugs, right? He hadn’t meant to do it, he hadn’t meant to make it seem like he had wanted to end his life. He hadn’t! He was just having fun and then the voices… gods the voices. They were gnawing at him, making him feel like his head was going to explode.
“Go away, go away, go awaygoawayGOAWAY!” an his fist found the door again, banging on it so that someone, anyone would open it… However no one did and for the longest time he cried to himself in the empty room. Until the door opened and someone came in… a familiar someone.
He had begged for this. First his parents and then his uncles Ed and Rory. He needed to see Dane. And he was almost positive that Dane needed someone to be there with him. It had taken more convincing then he thought but at last they had relented.
So here he was, just in time to hear the yelling. They wouldn’t let him in right away. Until the screaming had turned to tears. But yelling at anyone would just make the wait longer. Finally he was let in.
Trying not to think about it. Seeing Dane overrode any lingering fear. He swallowed, trying for a smile.
“Yeah...I’m sorry I took so long. Some people weren’t very receptive to me visiting.” He stepped in as the door closed behind him, locking in place again.
