Surfwear not for surfers?
I was doing my daily research, and while checking Transworld Business I stumbled upon this write up on Warriors of Radness and I was thoroughly bummed. Now I know my opinion is already biased due to the fact that I despise this whole retro-throwback-bright color palette fucking surfwear scene, but man... the dude could have chosen his words a little wiser.
"Warriors of Radness creator Rick Klotz says; 'I started WOR because I was interested in designing something beachy and surfy with an exuberance of a lifestyle that I don’t see anymore in what I’ll call the “surf industry.” As a designer, I didn’t want to be confined to the price and design restrictions of the surf market. It was as simple as thinking to myself, “This is what I want to make. Hmmm. Who is gonna understand it, and be able to sell it at the price it needs to be sold? Boutique fashion shops! Let’s hit em up!” Despite the look, this line won’t be available in your local surf shop.'"
A line made for surfers, yet not available in any local surf shops? C'mon man, everyone is looking to make money, but atleast try to keep it a little core and market your lifestyle brand towards real surfers - those who usually despise fashion boutiques. Maybe I am just biased, but I think this shit is stupid.
