Terrifying Moment
What’s terrifying is when you are grabbing your wallet and keys, ready to leave work in the middle of the day to go to your parent’s house to see if your dad is alive or dead because he hasn’t answered anyone’s texts or calls all day, and as you get ready to head to your bosses office to tell them, “I have to leave” and your mom texts you and tells you that he finally responded .
Real fear followed by the most intense relief; followed by immense sadness that this fear simmering just under the surface of your being is your new reality.
Terrifying and horrifyingly real.
