despite the challenges, the uncertainty, the group had conquered the trial of chronos. hunter had a bit of a personal journey, rather cinematic moments where he empowered lars in the creation of their defenses, assisted romeo with their little cloud trick, and...well, his power robbed by a fae.
now that it was over, he needed a break, some time away from the camp. luckily, he wouldn't be going alone, dragging the son of hades into his little adventure. back in his previous life, he'd gotten into lots of trouble with an old friend. now, he was hoping he could possibly stay out of trouble with the law.
packing an overnight bag, he makes his way over to winter's cabin, knocking curtly at the door. a loud whistle announces his presence, grinning wide. "winter! it's me."

the last few weeks had been truly exhausting, not just physically, but more so mentally. it had took more ouf of him than he had ever thought possible, from the invasion, to the constant monster attacks, but the thing that had made him realize maybe he was doing a little too much was the heartsong, when he'd given some of his power to the shield he'd passed out in a field and awoken 8 hours later alone, cold and mentally fucked. but he also had a certain sense of peace, that he had helped camp be that bit safer, helped winter survive longer. and that was the most important thing. so he would do it again in a heartbeat, even if it meant he wouldn't come back from it.
so he'd taken the day off, no leaving the cabin, no running to fight monsters, no dealing with anyones drama. just him in his own mind. he was so in the zone writing in his diary that he used to talk to hera about, that he didn't even hear the door to his cabin being opened and someone entering. not that he would really care, he had charmed the door so that only a few specific people could enter without having to be let in, winter being one of them.

Lingering.
So many people had been lingering, like they were hoping somebody might just... Show up. He felt like it was rude to intrude, so waiting at one of the tables had become a game of 'Would he manage to get in and out before somebody else strolled in?'.
It... Clearly had not been a very successful game, considering Winter caught him with a bread roll grasped between his teeth while rooting around for a knife and he knew he'd seen somebody leaving with peanut butt-
Full deer in headlights when his head turned to meet Winter's eyes, one hand raised to try a cupboard above his head, the other keeping his balance.

He was just straight up not having a good time.
"There are. So many Gods." There was a tiredness in his tone as his head allowed a solid thunk to fill the relative quiet of the library. Getting a better grasp for the camp had been his first priority, and this was his second. Getting a better understanding for those he was meant to be pledging loyalty to now. Was that the right wo- Were any of these the right words anymore?
"Would it even be Gods and Goddesses, or is Deity the better word opt-" The shush from one of those who tended to the library had a sheepish smile, shoulders drooping a little as he sunk further in to his seat to hide his shame, and a quiet 'me desculpe' before settling back in. He needed to get this down. He needed to figure out how this all worked for his own peace of mind.

by the time atticus finished his shift at the infirmary, dinner was long over and most of the camp must have been fast asleep. it'd been a long day of taking care of godlings who got injured from sparring, he wanted to shut himself off for a day or two to simply recharge. hearing a rumbling in his stomach, the son of athena realized just how hungry he was now that he didn't have work to distract him. he could probably make himself something back at his cabin but the kitchens is where all the good food was. quickly crossing the quad, atticus snuck into the kitchens to look for food.
pulling a few things out of the fridge, atticus nearly jumped out of his skin when he turned around and saw someone watching him from the other side of the room. "oh my god," he clutches his chest with the hand that was holding a bag of carrots he intended to cook. "you should wear a bell or something."
though he had met the son of hades previously, lars only offered the other a passing glance as he saw him in the bathhouse – a second instance for them both. the last time had been fine, a simple word exchange, but he wasn’t so eager to repeat it. lars had come here for soaking alone, intent on melting away the burdens of the previous week in the thermal waters, so company wouldn’t be necessary.
the innkeeper returned after a brief absence, just as winters appeared. “your bath is ready, mr. lars! we managed to secure you the last available tub! quite a busy week, i’m afraid, especially as we try to get past the spring chill!”
he fought off a groan. of course, it was the last available tub and of course, winter was here. the northman considered his prospects for a moment, then let out a sigh. “you can take it,” he told winter. “i’ll head off to the lake.”

harley enjoyed the foods here, he really did, it was food literally made for a god. but sometimes he just missed food from home, especially baked goods, something terrible for you, something that would sure shave a few months off of his life, like his mamma used to make for him. so that night he found himself sneaking into the kitchens, not even sure if he was allowed to be in there "come on, damn where is the flour?" he asked no one in particular, only speaking to himself as he open each of the cupboards. "gotcha!" he grinned, taking the flour and sitting it on the countertop and moving to find the rest of his ingredients, not hearing anyone entering the room.
