@deathvisited: styxx & mare. / verse: resident evil.
nothing surprised him anymore so when the plan went awry styxx had simply sighed to himself, cursing under his breath as he checked the ammo in his gun. he hadn't, however, expected that the people here had the chance of coming back to life like zombies out of a horror movie. they seemed deranged and something was seriously wrong with them, almost like rabid dogs. he'd tried his best to avoid them if he could and focus on the mission. baby eagel, aka, mare barrow. he wasn't sure who came up with the nicknames but it had him roll his eyes.
he'd been on his way through the town searching for her when to his mild concern and slight amazement, the towns people had simply stopped trying to attack him and went into the small church. lips pressed into a firm line as he looked up at the building, jaw clenching before he scoffed with a raised brow. "play time's over already?" he muttered dryly. it had been then he'd heard a young womans voice echo out, a cry in terror and his head turned, body moving automatically towards the direction. he kept low when he came to a broken down wall by the edge of a cliff, looking down the path ahead to see his target being dragged into what looked like another old church by cloaked men who were about as tall as he was. "how many damn churches does one town need....?" he muttered under his breath.
the good news of it all was that he wouldn't run into the towns people he'd passed on the way there, the bad news was he didn't know if the church she was in was also occupied by more, especially if they looked like the men who had been dragging her. finally with his back against the outer church wall he peered inside through the small hole of crumbled brick, watching with sharp blue eyes as they pulled her into a room and closed the door behind them. brows furrowed as he glanced briefly to the sky at the first few drops of rain on his pants. great. he waited a moment longer before it seemed like the men had left her, watching from around the corner as they exited the church chanting something in latin. something about a chosen one.
quickly, and quietly he caught the heavy church door before it closed and slipped inside. with his gun in one hand, he scanned the rest of the church while he kept close along the wall towards the room she was in. with the coast clear he reached for the handle, turning it only for it to be locked. tsking, he lowered his gun, standing in front of the door before he gave two hard kicks and it swung open. "mare barrow?" he asked in a monotone voice as he entered, blue eyes sweeping the room for her.
