Yeah, I think William isn’t weighted down by everything solomon has been through.  Despite all the adversity he has faced, he’s ultimately lived a fairly charmed life and hasn’t been constantly slapped down like Solomon.  And he just isn’t constrained by his background the way Solomon is.

He’s wise like Solomon and just like Solomon sees possibilities others don’t, but also has his own unique take on it, allowing him to see things Solomon doesn’t.  

Also I’m flattered that you enjoy my thoughts on things.  I can’t say I’m always right about everything, but I enjoy talking about my interpretations.  I’m glad other people like hearing them.

William is thoroughly creeped out by Dantalion’s friend Gilgamesh. Something about his playboy looks and his larger than life attitude leaves much to be desired. The way he looks at William makes him very uncomfortable as well.

William is constantly at odds with himself, both in keeping his odd relationship with Dantalion a secret and with his morals in accepting the constant shower of gifts in exchange for his chastity, if that’s indeed what the man is after.

He is desperately afraid that someone at his school or his guardian will find out about his friend. He’s more afraid of the rumors that will circle around him if words gets out than anything.

Every gift from Gilgamesh rouses suspicion in William, yet he accepts them nevertheless.

At some point in his musings over his web of lies, treasures and one-sided lusts, William realizes that they are, surprisingly, not one-sided. He still fears telling his chosen one, for fear of how the other, and society, will react.
