Kinda crashed out today, feeling a bit hollow. This is what happens when I hit that wall, and it will pass. Rousing myself to go see Deadpool 2 at my local AMC. Then I really have to put in a few hours of work tonight. Then officially on vacay! Arting, Etsying, eBaying, working on my house and garden this week. Yes. All scrubbed up and ready for bed. Big day tomorrow, starting much earlier than usual for me. Tonight's group dinner plans went spectacularly to shit, but the evening was also spectacularly salvaged by June Flavin, who joined me for a great dinner at Maggianos. An evening of much laughter and fun followed. I've sorted through my stuff and I'm ready to go in the morning. Long day, then back home. I'll share today's treasures when I hit the homestead. Now, to read for a bit and hopefully get a good night's sleep - always a challenge in a foreign bed. So, do I get a kickback or commission for highlighting fannish merchandise? No, I do not. My hope is that people will support the things I love, so there will be more things for me to love. It's selfish of me - I support artists so they can make more art. That means always identifying the artist - otherwise I don't share. "Credit to the artist" is, frankly, lazy bullshit. If you can take the time to share someone's work, you can take the time to give them proper credit. Ugh, sorry, didn't mean to rant, but folks who strip credits, or just don't bother to recognize there's a person behind the art, really make me nuts.
