Munday questions -- “how do you rp” edition
( I used to listen to most of my normal inspiration OST, which included globe, Alphaville, Nightwish, Sabaton, Epica, Vangelis, movie OST BGM, Christopher Franke, among many others -- and then OF COURSE soundtracks for AMG. but I think because I’ve been so Tired for the past two years, I HAVE to listen to the playlist I’ve made for Skuld just so I can get into her general headspace. I do the same for Ayeka.
I have a Spotify playlist for Skuld, and I’ve been thinking of making an 8track fanmix for Skuld too, just haven’t been able to formulate it. Might just link the Spotify one once I figure out how to make that public but keep my account still private XD

It was when Skuld and Lind were about to wwe smackdown and I thought the song represented Good Mood Music. )
Curiosity time! Has the mun every cosplayed as the muse?
(I actually had planned to cosplay as Skuld once many years ago! I had the makeshift patterns for her OVA costume. But the proper time never surfaced for me to make it for a determined con, and so it’s been on the wayside ever since. I’d love to try one day, but probably when I lose a gazillion pounds.)
Am I wrong in assuming that Skuld would be happy if what was waiting for her under the "Non-descript Holiday Tree" was a bunch of different metals?
(Are you kidding? She’d be ecstatic! Free metals?! Sign her up, and sign her up for a Three Kings’ Day haul too!)
(However, if she finds Sabaton, Dio, Battle Beast, Black Sabbath and many more signature metals, she will be disappointed. And re-gift them for Keiichi.
(It’s not that she minds metal -- but there’s a difference between metal and Metal. You told her she was getting free metals, you schmuck.)
(I’m assuming this isn’t divided between anime and comic book fandom, right? Based on my experience so far, with playing obscure or classic characters, I’d say the former was much more open but I digress!
Ehhhm, I’m going to be sappy and say both Tenchi and AMG fandom! Especially the AMG fandom -- Tenchi blogs are so nice and funny, but the series AMG has always had, at its core, to treat people kindly and to live life to its fullest, to accept both sorrow and happiness. And I really think the AMG RP fam has taken that to heart ^__^ We love having new people to talk to, love having people join us as AMGers, and just generally are open-minded enough to respect others.

I haven’t had too much bad luck in the anime fandom, more so with specific blogs of certain anime, so I’ll go back on my times in the comic book fandom -- roleplaying two characters that were related to a DC Comics alt imprint [created by one of its most relevant creators], I always found it high-larious how I had to work and find and almost yell at my screen so that the DC Comics rp community could at least notice my blogs and go ‘oh! it’s an official alternate universe of our heroes HOORAY!’ Very few did, and it was people who may or may not have been of similar ilk as my muse. (shout-out to @the-schwayest-batman-around and @digital-darwinism / @fire-hearted-father who went so far as to write their own take/storyline on my muse’s universe!)
Meanwhile, I found lots of Marvel blogs willing to give me a chance, as well as tokusatsu and some anime blogs who were full themselves of the zaniness that filled the universe where my muses came. To this day, it’s so funny to me, how semi-ignored by DC rp blogs I was -- it honestly makes me wonder if it was the specific alternate universe thing [mine wasn’t very popular] and whether, if I picked up Hans, he would go over better or not. o: )

(Phew-y! And here I thought I was the only one who was noticing this! XD I’ve realized I tend to repeat certain words in different replies when I write on one day or the other, but I could never tell if it’s because I haven’t read anything new lately [with different writing styles] other than academic texts or because I was too dumb to come up with any other word. The latter especially happens when I can’t think of an appropriate word in English/brain fart and I have to use a synonym that’s "lesser.”
That, and sometimes I fear going too purple-prosy [which is why I write in a more fanciful way on Ayeka, to see how far does that go.] That likely has colored my need for simplicity.

2. Do you have any controversial headcanons that go againstwhat is generally accepted by the fandom? Do you incorporate this into writingyour muse or keep it to yourself?
Hmm…any controversial headcanons don’t come to mind, really. If anything, most of what I headcanon about Skuld goes against what parts of Eastern and/or Western fandom headcanon about her:
that her sister complex goes into incest territory: nope, guess what folks, it’s entirely possible for a sister to love another so much it doesn’t go any further. I play Skuld’s sister complex as her exchanging Ansuz for Bell in the mother department, since it’s very clear that Skuld was raised by Bell (and Urd, to an extent.)
that she secretly loves Keiichi as much as Belldandy does and possibly wants to go beyond that: while Fujishima certainly played with that idea, it really is more of a case of surrogacy? If Skuld at times sees Bell as a mother substitute, then Keiichi is the father substitute. They’ve been living together a long time, that I wouldn’t doubt it if Skuld finally starts seeing Keiichi as a brother she never had either. Also Fujishima basically destroyed anyone’s dreams of a Keiichi/Skuld ship thank you Almighty.

she’s not necessarily attracted to the opposite sex only: or at the very least, doesn’t mind having kisses thrust upon them by a female-identifying being (lack of consent though, so it’s iffy) and is only mad because she didn’t get to kiss Sentaro first.
Then again, I freely admit I see her as falling in love with the person rather than their sex/gender, based on canon interactions and in the fact that she’d seem to concentrate on a person’s abilities/knowledge as a standard, rather than looks or anything else. This colors my own headcanons regarding my legalotps, whoops. I don’t think it’s controversial, just biased/personal headcanons.
Skuld is secretly a sexbomb waiting to ~blossom~ at the right time or extremely interested in sex, just too shy until the right moment comes along: first – second, she knows enough about sex to constantly accuse Keiichi of “doing nasty things” with her sister or to balk in disgust at any mention/sexual innuendo in conversations. While some people say that is partly because of her youth (because most young kids don’t like hearing about sex), ehhhh, I can see and understand that. At the same time, she’s clearly repulsed by it, and because Fujishima claimed that Skuld is very old, just looks young, well…honestly, it just bristles me. Would she be one day interested in sex, at a very older and legal age? Maaayyybe, but it’d be a lot of baggage to get through. For me, she’s definitely more whatever-romantic.
Those are the ones I can think of right now! I tend to play these aspects whenever I can, though the sex-related ones are obviously unplayable due to Skuld’s age. To talk about them would probably be in my adult verse, but I’m not necessarily itching for that either.
3. What is something that was never addressed at all in thecanon material that you have independently developed for your muse?
Ah, this is a hard one! Skuld’s one of those weird characters where I’m oddly fine with however much she got in canon. Last I checked XD She got a lot more development than most characters similar to her do! I really just go further with her machines obsession, for example, and how she got into them and all – as an example.
Having said that, I don’t like how Fujishima rushed the endgame for Skuld/Sentaro. I really wished he had taken it slow with them, instead of having Skuld declare everlasting love until the ends of the earth for her love interest. It’s not out of character for her –she’s intense like that!– but it just felt rushed. Fujishima didn’t even let a little thought come in on her own immortality, much like Peorth did with Keiichi and Belldandy.’s relationship That’s what I’d like to write about one day, the fact that Skuld hasn’t realized that though she may grow up with Sentaro, she’ll still lose him. Or that there may be problems if it turns out she can’t grow up physically, that she’ll stay young-looking forever!
As for the “ends of the earth” part: the way I deal with this is by having her think about Sentaro as still a crush, that she herself is so sure of her lack of interest, or reluctance to leave her guard down, or that she even feels like maybe it won’t last because of circumstances – because while I believe she would love just one person only all her life (and guess what, there are people like that!), I also believe that in her case, she’s not as trustful of others as Belldandy is or as willing/teasing of others as Urd. She’s guarded, after all.
15. What plots/interactions leave you feeling protective of yourmuse?
THE ONE WHERE YOU AND I DECIDED TO THRUST OUR CHILDREN INTO A WALLING PIT OF ANGST AND DESPAIR AND LOTS OF SCREAMING
For serious though, probably the ones that might remind me of AMG dounjishi where the author/s decided to torture porn Skuld. I haven’t had any like that, thankfully, probably because all my partners are sensible and she’s a child, that’s why????
Other than that, no one thread has made me feel “oh wait, this is not making me feel good, gotta kibosh it for my baby.” If anything, I hunger for more plots, despite my current schedule + grad school status XD
