With the freshness of basil and the creamy tang of goat cheese, this strawberry bacon pizza is a great mix of sweet and savory tastes. It balances out the rich toppings with a hint of acidity from the balsamic reduction.
Ingredients: 1 pizza dough store-bought or homemade. 1/2 cup pizza sauce. 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled. 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced. 1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn. 2 tablespoons balsamic reduction.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 475F 245C and place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven while it heats up. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Evenly distribute the cooked bacon and sliced strawberries over the cheese. Bake the pizza on the preheated stone or baking sheet for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned. Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle crumbled goat cheese over the hot pizza. Top the pizza with torn fresh basil leaves. Drizzle balsamic reduction over the pizza. Slice and serve hot. Enjoy!
