“just tried to explain someone that i do have experience in retail since i worked at a record shop in 1975...” a few weeks later after waking up in the strange town, the shock’s been slowly wearing off, but a girl had to make a living, right? even though she was still hoping to wake up from this bad dream, nothing seemed to indicate that this wasn’t her new reality. “they looked at me like i was high, i don’t blame them to be honest, i’m starting to think i might be after all.”

“i’ve got to say--it’s a bummer that all my vinyl collection is long gone now. this may be a long shot, but do you happen to know if there are any record stores nearby?”

  Vodka. It was a distinct smell, one that Külliki was less than thrilled now covered her skirt. She should have left when she said she was going to, but did anyone ever do that? It had been ages since she’d had anything to drink, especially going out, but she was beginning to regret the decision anyway. She pursed her lips, eyes scanning the bar for a rag at the very least. It didn’t help that the place was so bloody crowded. 

     Külli loathed large crowds. She had always loathed them. They almost always spelled trouble, and tonight it spelled some drunken idiot crashing into her and then trying to get her number. She still wasn’t fond of cellphones, let alone handing her contact information out to drunk blokes like the one trying to chat her up despite numerous attempts at shutting him down and ignoring him. “If you’re going to keep talking, at least make yourself useful and find a--” She began, turning to find he’d finally left in favor of another. 

      “Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else.”

( Prior to this, mitch would have considered himself as a fairly steady individual. he wasn’t an easy scare, he didn’t allow himself to be swept up in the usual threats of epidemics and disasters that might catch someone of a more highly-strung countenance. however, there was something about waking up in a world that was essentially alien to him that caused him to believe that a little bit of panic was probably justified. survival mode had kicked in eventually, as it always did. so maybe he didn’t understand pretty much anything about where he was, at the very least he was alive.

“People still invite others to go out for drinks right?” The boy let out a laugh before shrugging his shoulders a bit. “Dude, I say we go anyway. How can that not always cause a good time? Come on.” He began as he headed down the street, remembering that there was a local bar close by.

Morgan grew up with a tough life. Anyone who knew her knew that much. But the people in this little town didn’t know her. ...right? They also didn’t know she basically had two personalities: her angsty, teenage side along with her happy-go-lucky, smiling and laughing side. In no way was she preppy or peppy but either side always tended to be the life of the party.

She was in Maine. And somehow, somewhere ...yet she wanted to be the life of the party again.

Morgan couldn’t take it anymore. She threw her hands up in the air, frustrated, saying, “I just want to be the center of attention again!” It was then that she heard footsteps. She turned around with a hopeful smile on her face, hoping they didn’t hear her outburst.

“Hey stranger, want to go grab a drink and maybe cause some trouble?”
