It’s January but the snow’s starting to melt, the winter cold is fading away. And just as quickly as the ridiculous Dragon Shell trend had started, it had been disposed of too. The remnants of the shells can be seen tossed in bins, the remaining ones were marked down to nearly 85% of the original cost. But with those silly matters aside, a greater thing has played out.
It’s all over the news!
Political disruption has occurred when Edwin M Gaunt’s twenty eight year old son, William Gaunt’s body was found dead on the scene at the Plaza, in Room 59. His murder has been declared a public outcry as Edwin Gaunt had been on the forefront of uniting members within Wizarding society - a joining factor who had tried to reconcile the differences between the Coalition and the Pride Society. And now things have been put on pause after this massive devastation. Many recall William to be a dark haired boy with much of a wasted youth gone past. The timing seems almost too perfect as papers to settle a contract agreement between city borders between two societies were about to be sorted.
While the Federal Bureau of Covert Vigilance and No Maj Obliviation have sent it’s people, other personal attendants of the British born Wizard have also arrived at the crime scene. As they’ve looked around for clues, hardly anything has been lined up together to make sense. But there is one undeniable thing about this event - William Gaunt was an excessive partier, a debauchery in the popular societal scene. The reason for his death remains a mystery but there are certainly enough questions to be asked as to why someone killed him.
But among all the chaos, the news of a certain special someone’s arrival has caught the eye of society. An old friend they say, Horus Ollivander is back and better than before.
THE ADMINS NOTE
This event is the beginning of something mysterious and big. All characters will have a chance to investigate the scene at the Plaza personally. Below I shall be instructing on how this little ‘search’ shall work, click more to read.
Think of it somewhat like a video game. I will be setting the scene with each one of you individually through DISCORD (one and one) and you may choose the options presented. Some will lead you to discoveries, and others will lead you to dead ends. You will only have two opportunities to search (meaning if you discover nothing useful in both tries, then you have no information on your hands.)
Example:
You’ve entered the crime scene, room number 59.
Do you choose to flip over the table
Move to the bathroom
Await for further prospects
Say you’ve chosen to “await for further prospects”
- Nothing has happened, you’ve simply just wasted five minutes doing nothing. You’ve discovered nothing.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEARCH ONE FINAL TIME (this would be your second opportunity to reset your choice)
And so be very wise and very careful and how you choose to investigate.
Please do not share the choices you’ve made with players. For the sake of both the fun as well as well - whatever information you might’ve discovered, you may choose to keep to yourself.
All characters are allowed to discuss the event, muse over the rationale behind it. Whatever they’ve investigated however can either be alluded to. Be clever and cautious about who you speak to.
Be aware that since the death has occurred, the lock down on parties as well as alcohol has become more strict. More law enforcement has been implemented to the city so be careful if, you wouldn’t want to wander alone!
This ‘Investigation’ process will take approximately 10 minutes maximum per player. Please be prepared to converse with the admin to make efficient choices so it can be completed as smoothly as possible.
This event shall approximately last for a maximum of two weeks.
It’s January, the first of snow having piled up on the ground. All is seemingly well in the quiet morning of New York City. But something different, particularly unusual attracts your attention. You blink your eyes twice, making sure you’re awake and you are - your ears perking up to pick up the conversation that’s quietly murmured.
“Doesn’t this look wonderful? Genius really,” a woman whispered to her gentleman friend. And it is then when you look up from her visage do you realize what she’s talking about.
Upon her head rests a hat but to even call it a ‘hat’ seems almost preposterous. It’s only upon closer examination do you realize what it is. It looks like a half cut dragon eggshell that’s promptly been decorated and bedazzled ridiculously by some fools whim. But apparently, this is the latest trend that’s spreading to every corner of the magical realm. Even journalists are reporting how it’s all “the rage” in Wizarding World. Not only are the women parading around with the half cut shells, so are the men! It’s quite a sight to behold. Rumors have it that even overseas, such an outrageous fashion is spreading like wildfire. While practices have been revealed to be safe and sanitary - perhaps you still do wonder how wonderful of an idea this all really is.
One particular soul in fact looks amused. And it looks like Genevieve Wood has mysteriously returned to the scene.
THE ADMINS NOTE
Consider this to be a very light introduction event for all characters to participate and utilize as a means of interaction. Get to know each other before the heavy drama hits with the next upcoming chapter installment. Please make sure to be active as not to get an activity warning!
Be as creative as you’d like, you can have your character trying out the fashion, mocking the fashion, ignoring it or even raving about how splendidly genius it is!
For those of you who love their aesthetics, feel free to create any type of graphic you’d like to inspire you or amuse you and just tag it through the talk tag at decatalks!
Have Dragon Eggshell get together luncheons, arrange drabbles, attend a dragon eggshell limited time exhibition (take advantage of the OOC!)
The fashion trend will be outdated in approximately a week (or until the next chapter event reveals itself.)
Mid February and while some have forgotten about the death of William Gaunt, many others are still sombre over it. It seems like there are even more hostile attitudes between those of different bloods. The weather has been rather awful as well with the constant showers and gloom. Some say it’s a reaction of the grim events that have occurred so far.
But they say that a new little wonder has appeared in town to give some excitement toward many of the downtrodden. Her name is Magdalena Trelawney, a renown fortune teller. While some say her fortunes are nothing more than nonsense, others believe it like a religion. However regardless, it’s said that she’s generous of heart. And so, many have decided to spin their luck with her! After all, what does one have to lose besides a few galleons?
They say Zephyra Lovegood and Klaus Graves have been spotted.
THE ADMINS NOTE
A casual event to balance out the chaos! A little bit of a breather for all the characters to digest and process the information of the most recent events that have occurred!
The way in which this event will work will rely on the DISCORD BOT. Please make sure to slide into the roll channel.
If you wish to participate, please @the admin (emma on the group) so I can denote the results of the numbers you’ve made. You will be rolling twice and the numbers shall be added up and it’ll reveal what you’ve won (well your character)!
You may have your characters discuss the aftermath of what they’ve received and so forth. Feel free to start threads whether you believe in such a fortune teller.
One fortune per person so best of luck and enjoy! (Will do more if everyone uses up their turns)
This event shall approximately last for a maximum of one week.
It’s February and you’re still mulling over the clues. While investigations have told nothing to the public, many people are getting antsy. What was suppose to be a good thing ended up being quite bad. Though the somber attitude had dissipated in a matter of moments. Gossip circles and mills ran wild with the displeasing character of William Gaunt. In fact, some have even gone as far to say ‘good riddance’ to the nuisance of a boy.
While Edwin Gaunt himself was in no state to do any celebration, his dear wife Christine was holding a small gathering in hopes of commemorating their beloved son. Though both were quite well established people in society, it was hard not to judge them for the party they decided to host. One would have believed the duo to be more grievous about their affairs but perhaps they drowned their sorrows in distraction instead.
AND SO, all members of society, Coalition and Pureblood Society alike have been invited to gather in the HAMPTONS, a private destination on the Island off of the bright twinkling lights of NYC. While the proposal for peace remains a murmur, perhaps there is hope that at this party, there will be a better more opportune moment to bring two different groups together. Who knows, it could be a fantastic event or an unfortunate one at that.
The party starts off with a blast, Lycus Selwyn making a surprising entrance to announce his arrival.
THE ADMINS NOTE
There are five locations available in this large Hampton estate. Each location has a suspect located there who will reveal further information. You may only select one.
This event shall continue the investigation - the suspects in particular. The one who holds the key will be able to use it directly and access the prime target of the death.
While this is still a ‘party’ there’s more magic aurors stationed to keep an eye out for any reckless sort of behavior.
The Parlor ; Plates of teacakes, scones and drinks are placed onto lacy white linen tables. The sound of the piano plays its key without a human accompaniment due to the magic enchantment. Suspect 1: Lydia B Rowle, Red hair, leggy and thin, loves to wear white gloves and pearls. Was a consistent arm girl to William. Left handed. (clues: red lipstick, white gloves )
The Billiards Room ; The smell of smoke is flagrant, cards are scattered on the tables along as the pool sticks move up and down. Music plays mysteriously in the room and the lights are dimmed to relax. Suspect 2: Agnes Avery - Black haired clever pointed girl with specs on her face, a notorious gambler who loves cards games as well as money. Receipts of William owing her money for his terrible losses had her rather pissed off. ( clues: coins +chocolate frog, receipt )
The Pool ; The water is enchanted to turn different colors every couple of seconds. The liquid almost seems to sparkle, poofing every so often with glittery bubbles. The smell itself is almost intoxicatingly similar to how one feels when they’ve drank enough champagne. Suspect 3: Jonathan Bulstrode - William’s Blonde haired supposed lover, a front that was rarely known to the public. They exchanged cologne bottles as a sentiment of always keeping their familiar smell with each other. (clues: shoe, poem, blonde hair )
The Library ; There are books scattered across the plush room. Some books are floating while others are chained aggressively to their shelves. The room itself is impressive, with a circular staircase that winds upward. Suspect 4: Bryant G Fawley - A school day friend who William, brown haired, has kept in touch. Also known as a very reputable and good gentleman in society. Left handed. Is also a well known supplier of alcohol. (clues: towel, button )
The Garden ; Perhaps one of the most impressive locations owned by the Gaunts, this garden has singing flowers and some of the most rare birds. The plants twist and turn, the colors vibrantly fluttering as if it too were alive. Suspect 5: James Flint - One of Williams not so friendly ex friends. Was said to have slept with one of William’s favorite whores and even went as far as hexing him as spiteful revenge. A rather shit person but has a lot of connection with lawyers. (clues: cigarette - heavy chain smoker, weird substance, tie )
You may either choose by trusting the clue you have on hand. OR you may select based on your own opinion. Please message the main (or via discord) to make your final decision.
You will be sent results shortly. You may either choose to share your findings or keep quiet.
Enjoy the rest of the party!
This event shall approximately last for a maximum of one week.
