Looks like someone fell asleep on her front lawn while waiting for her parents to come home.

'Keep your head down and your hood up...No one will notice..!'
It wasn't often that Mary had gone into town and left her cozy cottage in the forest. Of course, she had her reasons...She was a medusa, a monster, and anywhere she went she was treated as such. The nearest town was a rather large one that harbored a large castle and was the home of many formal and present knights. It was always busy and loud which didn't settle well with the monster but it made well for her to sneak in when she needed supplies. Often people didn't give her a second glance if she just kept her head down and face covered.
The last thing she wanted was to come into town but her food supply was low and needed to be replenished. When she finally made her way to the market, she swiftly bought all her items careful to not make eye contact with the sellers for too long. While she had control over her dangerous powers, if her anxiety spiked they would go crazy once again. When she finally finished buying everything she needed, she started to leave the market to get home as fast as possible.
This was where the monster made her fatal mistake.
The local bookshop had their doors open for once and of course the medusa was a bookworm, it was her only way to escape the confinement of her home without worrying about her safety. While she had been looking down at the books, she heard something break. Quickly, she looked over to see the store owner on the ground in fear with a broken vase next to her.
...She was looking straight at her.
"M-Monster-!!"
The medusa heard the lady scream out the word that defined only one person, her. Dropping the book, she ran outside only to find people had started gathering around the shop.
"There she is! " "It's the monster!" "Get her!"
As the crowd started to surround her, Mary carefully stepped backwards attempting to keep her distance. It was when two men lunged for her that the whole ordeal took a turn for the worst. The events had made her loose her cool and her powers to act up once more. As the men ran towards her, she looked at them both unaware that her pink eyes had turned a deep red. ...The two men turned to solid stone right in front of her and everyone had stopped cheering for a split second seeing as their "heroes" had just been defeated.
"N-No...I-I-I didn't mean to...!"
When one lady raised her voice against the medusa once more, Mary began to run and kept running til she had safely lost the crowd and returned home where she locked herself in once again.
