Cleaning supplies clattered to the floor as the umber skinned nun covered her ears at the bizarre keening noise filling the temple. Stumbling down the hall, she grit her teeth hard trying to ignore the drilling sensation the noise was making behind her eyes.
Baddeleyite finally slumped against the doorway of the Warp Pad chamber, barely able to see into the room for the bright light flooding from it. Something was wrong with the Pad, she could tell that much. The light was dark green, sparking and arcing all over the chamber, bolts of energy digging furrows into millennia old murals and defacing barely intact statues.
