Okay I'm not gonna lie, this is gonna get really sad.

So I am not sure if I will ever include this into the story, but I mention that Oikawa missed the birth of his older sister's baby (Takeru). This happened when he was still very much in the Kitagawa Daichii, rising up the ranks very quickly. What happened right after initiating into the clan was that Oikawa cut contact with his family. He dropped out of school despite being a straight A student and highly intelligent, and he left in the middle of the night with a small note saying he left for a more promising future. Since he always went out with his friends, his family thought he was joking and would be coming back, but unfortunately he never did.

I believe he was having issues with his father right before he ran away, and his father actually passed away himself during the time he was in the yakuza, so he never got the chance to say goodbye. He also missed the birth of Takeru, and his mother started to get sick. Somehow through connections with his old high school friends, Oikawa's sister reached out to let him know what he missed within the last five years of his life (ages 17-22) and sent him a letter. Because of this, he decided to reach out once again since the news of all three events kinda shocked him back to reality. He replied back to her basically lamenting the fact he wasn't able to be there for his father's death or the birth of Takeru, but he ultimately accepts the consequences of it. He basically states that the past is dead to him, there is nothing he is able to do to change it, but moving forward, he is going to financially help his sick mother and to help raise Takeru (this is around the time he was going to marry his Boss's daughter and basically be the heir to the Kitagawa Daichii), and so he sends the letter, but unfortunately he was not able to actually send anything, because shortly after, this is when he had to fake his death in Manila.

So, at the current moment of where the story is, no, they do not know y/n YET!!!!

okay tbh they might have seen the video… lmaoooo but honestly i notice they don’t scrub evidence too hard, only the ones where they can see it deliberately correlates to whatever charges they arrest him for. They can’t arrest him for getting his dick sucked, i bet they just assumed it was a porno he had downloaded and probably discarded it 😭😭😭😭

I’ve mentioned this a while back on why he picked y/n, but his type in women is just… normal looking girls. plain janes. if you’re pretty, dress well, and are fun to talk to, he would have a crush on you. You dont have to be a sexy slutty baddie or a certain aesthetic to be liked by him. he liked y/n because she’s smart, family oriented, and…. normal. she wasn’t part of the racing scene, or got herself involved with the yakuza life. basically the entire opposite of leia, who is a yakuza princess, a sexy slutty baddie who never went to graduated high school or went to college. his old gf (the police informant) had the undercover persona of a psychology undergrad student, very normal, very “innocent”. idk, he likes those types of girls. gets him bricked up for some reason.

he has taken her on numerous dates which i have not highlighted in the story, but the main ones are the ramen date, the new car/car sex date, and the flashback to the cherry blossom date in the chapter where she gets the tattoo.

omg i’m not gonna lie I’m literally so close to finishing the next chapter. Like i said I have some kinks to work out with the pacing, and i still have to edit it. I’ll have an outline but will take forever writing one scene to the next. Idk omg i’m aiming for anytime at the point 😭

I know that iwa had previously talked up y/n to cypher in the fic, but what made him really wanna go for her was it looks?

yes at first, it was looks, like obviously as a reader insert fanfic you’d want to imagine yourself at your looksmaxxing potential 😂😂😂 so yes, looks at first, but looks can only get you so far. It’s like reading, looks are like the hook to get readers interested, but in reality it’s the personality that gets you to stay, kind of like the plot in a story. Cypher just thought y/n’s vibes was great, and there was definitely a lot of chemistry happening between them too that’s unexplainable. The vibes were too good
