Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Biography:
Born to a relatively well off business family, Declan was one of three sons and the eldest to Julius and Victoria Everett. With a chain of high end hotels which originally started off as a family business, Julius Everett was an entrepreneur who began his own chain of high end, luxury hotels that originated with just a few and slowly began to grow beyond his wildest expectations– the first opening in their hometown of Rockford, Illinois. With the intention to pass on the ropes of their small but successful hotel empire to their sons they were brought up learning the hotel business, now each of them running the small chain in some form. And as the eldest son of the Everett family, Declan now holds a position of the chief business development officer (CBDO) of the Everett Hotels in order to maintain market growth and establish marketing techniques.
From a young age growing up as a child to the Everett’s, Dec had always known that his future would involve handling the hotel business and so that was something that he prepared himself for. After all, it was a family owned business and being bred in the industry he had slowly learnt to love and appreciate it himself, and so, studied business in university right in his hometown of Rockford. Then, at the age of 21 he met a girl who would eventually rock his world and become the light of his life for the short but magical 3 years that he would spend with her. A year in a half into their relationship and he decided to take the plunge. He was adamant that he had found his perfect match and his happily ever after despite the fact that they both came from completely different lifestyles– his of luxury and stability and hers of well… the opposite. Regardless, he loved her none the less– spoiling her and treating her like the queen the was to him in his eyes.
And that’s when the rumors began to swirl. “She’s only using you.” “Rags to riches– this bitch is only using you for the money.” “Quit wasting all your time with that useless good for nothing girl.” and so on… But Declan couldn’t believe it all. He was too busy blinded by his love and by the girl he saw in front of him rather than the girl everyone else made her out to be that he didn’t see it coming when he returned from work one day to the home they shared. Her bags, her things, everything was gone and all that was left– a voice message on his answer phone saying she was leaving without further explanation. Endless attempts of trying to regain contact with her and sleepless nights eventually turned to nothing. It was clear that she wasn’t returning and Declan didn’t understand why. Whether the rumors swirling around were all true or whether it was something that he did to hurt her– he never understood where they went wrong.
Six years on and he’s slowly learnt to get over things though that piece in his heart for Roxanne will always be there, haunting him. For a while, he spent a bit of time wallowing in his own pity and sorrow unsure of what to do with his life before eventually burying himself into the business to distract himself and keep his mind off things. Now, fully involved in the running of the Everett hotels, Dec spends a lot of time traveling to and from cities for the organisation but also a lot of time back in Rockford to organize things with the rest of the family.
Personality:
As a child, Declan and his brothers were always raised the “right” way. After all “no one wants to do business with you if you’re an asshole or a snob” their father would always tell them, therefore raising his kids to be kinder, generous gentlemen with a knack for business. Sure, they were rich and relatively wealthy but it was nothing that Dec showed off– or at least, not intentionally besides spoiling people that he cared about with. A dedicated and diligent worker, some would joke that Dec has practically “married” his job especially since he tends to spend long hours in the office and helping to run the hotel but the truth is it all started as a distraction to heal broken wounds, eventually turning into a lifestyle.
