Hi Anon! I am glad you think Declan is the best. I do not know him personally, but I've heard good things. I apologise in advance if this is inaccurate, but I feel it needs to be said. I know that this was a well-intentioned statement. 

Content warning: depression. 

Depression is an asshole. Most of the time people are sad, it is outside their control. It isn't their choice. Saying someone shouldn't be sad can sometimes be harmful by invalidating how they feel. People should be allowed to feel how they feel.

It's very important to support people who are going through any hard time, whether it's caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain or otherwise.
