6. Describe their most fond pre-war memory.
Probably her wedding reception. She and Nate had a small wedding. They were both still in the military at the time, and about to be reassigned, but they were able to coordinate everything sort of last minute. Nate’s parents and sister attended and their friends gave them an impromptu party afterwards. They were able to get a short honeymoon in before they had to leave.

1.What is their name? Do they go by the same name they did pre-war?
Her name is Declan Sowa. Sowka is her maiden name, she didn’t change it when she got married. She has some nicknames now some of which she likes.
2. What was their relationship like with their spouse? (Answered previously, included here)
Declan and Nathaniel loved each other very much. They were together quite a while before they married and had Shaun. They were at the point where they were very comfortable in their relationship. Declan and Nate’s personalities were balanced too. Declan tends to be too serious, Nate was a dreamer. It worked well.
10. What is their weapon of choice?
Modified .45. It was Kellogg’s originally. Now it is hers. She’s also gotten quite fond of an institute pistol she modified to be a sniper rifle.
12. What is their sexual orientation?

23. Describe their butt.
Glorious. Lol. No. Not round but not flat either. Firm from all the actual junk she carries.
30. Who is their bff post-war?
She kind of likes everyone, Declan is 100% a mom friend. She’s really good friends with Piper and Cait. She also has a surprisingly soft spot for Hancock, despite being upset by his drug use. MacCready and Deacon are her sweet, goofball children. Curie and Preston are her sweet, perfect children. Danse and Strong are her sweet, problem children. Her favorite person in the whole damn Commonwealth though is Nick Valentine.
Sad head-cannon for my sole survivor, Declan: she and Nate liked to collect music. They both liked rock music, a genre that never got to be very popular, as well as lots of other genres. She finds out that Codsworth saved their collection. Declan has a good time looking through it and listening until she gets to "There is a light that never goes out" by the Smiths. Then she cries. Nate loved that song and liked to sing the morbid parts about being killed in a funny voice. He even played it at their wedding.

Lots of red. Declan has red hair and really likes red lipstick. She also has a red flannel shirt she likes to wear a lot. She also has resting bitch face, which makes some people nervous.
4, Are they introverted or extroverted?
Introverted! She not shy at all though.
24. What are their insecurities?
Declan worries a lot if she’s done enough to help the Commonwealth. She feels responsible in a way having lived in the prewar world. She always feels like she hasn’t done enough to help. She also has some serious of survivor’s guilt, which doesn’t help.
Declan worries she’s getting over Nate too quickly. She still loves him, but she begun to move on. They’d talked about what they would do should anything should happen to one of them, since they were both in the military. She knows Nate wanted her to try to find happiness but she feels guilty anyway, especially with what happened with Shaun.
Before the war, she worried if she was going to be a good mom. Declan had a not great family life as a child and worried that would effect her relationship with Shaun. Nate was a great support, but she was still insecure.
She has a few more innocuous insecurity. She used to be very embarrassed of the dark circles under her eyes, she’s had them since she was a kid. She’s kind of accepted them now. She’s always thought her chin was weird. .
25. What boosts their confidence?
Red lipstick! It makes her feel powerful, which is why she always wears it.
26.What makes them angry?
One of the biggest things is the senseless violence that seems to be so readily accepted by the people of the Commonwealth.
She also hates being lied to, it makes her furious.
I’ve some up with a good chunk of backstory for my Sole Survivor, Declan Sowka. She’s not a lawyer but she was a combat engineer (which explains why she so good with weapons and tech). The “dusting off the law degree” thing was an inside joke between her and Nate because Declan’s grandmother always told people she was a lawyer for some reason.
Declan was an only child. Her mom died in an accident when she was a teenager. Her dad wasn’t exactly a great father, so their relationship was always a little strained. She has some other family but never saw them often. Nate had a large, loving, tight-knit extended family and Declan really appreciated them.
She and Nate met when they were both still serving. They saw each other on and off for a few years before things started to get serious. She had joined the military to pay for school, but her term of commitment had already passed when she and Nate got engaged. She probably would have stayed in except they wanted kids and Nate wanted to resign. He had some rough times and a close friend had recently died, so he was ready to move on. They decided they should both retire since it would be easier for them both and they wouldn’t have to move around.
Nate really, really wanted to be a stay at home dad. Declan was going to surprise him with the news she’d got a really good job offer from a friend who was part of local start-up that wanted to be an alternative to RobCo. Nate would have been able to stay home with Shaun like he wanted. Unfortunately, that never happened.
