Levi had no idea how to broach the subject, but instead thrust out a hand holding an ice cream cone towards Armin. "It'll help."

Levi swore, loudly, under his breath, almost hopping around the room as his back burned hot under his shirt. "How the hell am I... Literally on fire and you're just standing there?" He wasn't genuinely angry, more frustrated than anything, and cursing Erwin for sending them on maneuvres in the red hot burning centre of the sun.

Levi's lips formed a little 'o' shape as he looked at the mark on Armin's back. It was worse than he'd thought, than he'd imagined, and something in the back of his head made him want to wrap the kid up and keep him safe. "From your first mission, right? When we lost the Wall?" His fingers traced the scar delicately, examining it, with a look of pain on his face. This was what their war on the Titans was doing to their soldiers. Shit.
