i was gonna do fanart for @valrvne anyway because OH MY GOD HELION IS SOOOO PEAK I LOVE HIM (hes also very addicting to draw lol i've been doodling him separately in my notebook but those are ugly so im not posting that)

and then as i was thinking about what i'd draw i realized that there are some really fun parallels/ideas that i could use between Helion and Earnest...
my extensive story ideas/explanations its under the cut lol (warning it's a lot i have lots of ideas that plague me)
OK SO to preface, Earnest is a proto-starling (or whatever it doesnt matter. Starboy ig) he's VEEEERYYYYY young for his species, translating to only about like 7 or 8 years old in human years, but uhm. Hes a star so he's actually closer to what...1 Billion years lol
which means! He knows/has met several Viltrumites in the past, runs into Allen quite a lot, and assuming the parasite's been wandering around space with its hosts, he's met all the hosts too!
I dont think the parasite nor the VIltrumites would like him very much because 1. he's a child, 2. they can't really force him into submission because he's got the firepower of a literal star (so they'd fucking die) - he just keeps his surface temperature super low when he's talking to living creatures. (He started to do this after finding it out the hard way that if you're drifting close to a planet full power, you will incinerate and vaporize everything living on it...) and 3. they can't really punch him or anything? he's still got all that energy in him, so you'll at best js like burn off your hand - also i dont even think he's solid so there's nothing to attack really
The Viltrumites have tried getting him to join them under the premise that they'd 'be his friend' if he did 'peace-keeping' work for them...aka go to different planets and force the inhabitants to comply bc they'll turn into crisps if they dont. it hasn't worked on large btw.
So that's EARNEST. Considering story...the last host of the parasite ran into him and decided they'd challenge him to hide and go seek - mainly js to get him off their back, and he accepted. So after a while he was finally able to track down Helion back to the Solar System. Obviously, if he were to enter it this would be Quite Bad for life on Earth and in the system in general, so Cecil deploys Helion and Mark to go deal with the anomaly before he fucks w gravity enough to screw things up significantly (bc he defo has gravitational pull of some sort)
They float up and realize that despite him being horribly dangerous, he is just a very, very lonely child and they could probably coax him to safely float somewhere else without upsetting him. ...Maybe. He starts excitedly rambling about how happy he was to have found the host, and that this is the most he's talked to someone in 200 years, and how it's a host AND a Viltrumite that's so special, that hide and seek game was really fun but its over so they'll be his friend now right? Right?
I dont know who has to break it to him that they need him to leave, and idk how softly they do it (if at all), but he'll be uhm. Upset :D
The thing is considering Helion and Mark's power sets uhhhh up against Earnest i'd say they're pretty evenly matched? No one can really end the fight super quickly or anything so they'll prolly duke it out for a bit. I'm not super sure what the agreement is, maybe he'll station himself in the Kuiper belt or sm closeby to Earth and they'll come visit him now and then so he won't get lonely as long as he doesn't hurt anyone

AND THEN!!!!! FITZ STUDIES YAYYYYYY bc i was still somewhat unhappy w how i draw him so i tested a few combos (as you can see) and you can TELL that one of them is obviously wayyyy more Fitz than the others lmao he was missing zest i think. im happy now!

Originally I planned for this to be after Jolie's Wanderling, but the age doesn't make sense (he looks like a teen here, he'd be 10 when that happened), so we're just oging to pretend this is after Sophie/Dex's Wanderling ceremony <3
