no but I actually think so many goddamn thoughts about dj trying to live up to this legend of an uncle that she never knew, and in reclaiming her name she finds individuality. same vibe kinda happened with me, except i didn’t have my dead uncle who saved the world like a billion times name. nothing against sammy I just think that naming the child dean was a horrible idea because man i used to freak out about having my mediocre aunt’s name as my middle one. like I’m sorry sam accidentally or not you’re always going to think about your brother and how alike/not dj is, and that’s gonna be an emotional burden on the kid even if it’s all praise. this ain’t saying that sam is even vaguely a bad parent

back to deanna. i think she still uses dj as a nickname, because i love that nickname (also saying it “deeg/deej” is cute) but can you even THINK about her coming out?

i’m thinking late teens. she knows that thingl will be… okay, in a sense. they’ve got a pride flag banner hanging from the house, have for years. and man, it’s like 2037. it’s not a big deal.(also cough sam and eileen are both queer as fuck cough) and thats. that’s good. but coming out is the most terrifying thing that she’s ever done.

because she knows what that name means to sam. knows any and every war story and heroic tale featuring the late great dean winchester. knows sam will never stop missing dean. and that she’s a way to honor him. and maybe she tells herself that she’s taking that memory from him. but it’s such a burden like this. so she comes out.

and everything is fine. Deanna Winchester-Leahy is real and alive and happy.
