102 jaar geleden werd de ‘Rotterdamsche Vereeniging voor Schoolwerktuinen’ opgericht. Verspreid over de stad werden akkers aangelegd waar kinderen konden leren over de natuur en hoe voedsel verbouwd wordt. Hoewel subsidies duidelijk verlaagd zijn, wordt het programma nog steeds aangeboden aan leerlingen uit groep 6 en/of 7. Dit is educatieve tuin De Enk, gelegen ‘op Zuid’ is het in verborgen stukje groen midden in de stad. Op het midden van het terrein bevinden zich de akkers voor de klassen. De rand is een reeks aan spannende paadjes. In de zomer is het een van de vele stempels van het @jeugdvakantiepaspoort! ——————— In 1919 the ‘Rotterdamsche Vereeniging voor Schoolwerktuinen’ was started. Its goal was (and is) to learn the children of the city of Rotterdam about nature and how plants and crops are grown. Throughout the city 11 gardens are still active. This one is located in the neighborhood of Vreewijk. In the middle of the garden children of neighboring schools can learn and grow. The edges of the garden have exciting pathways.
