Deep Compositing!
While it may not look incredibly impressive, this is the first result of much research I have been doing into the history and use of Deep Compositing. I’m delving into this for personal edification and as a part of my Honours in the Major Project in Emerging Compositing Technologies.
Onto my long ass paper!

NEW TOMRA SENSOR BASED SORTING SYSTEM FOR METAL RECYCLING FACILITIES
Sensor based sorting specialist, TOMRA Sorting Recycling used the recent IFAT exhibition in Munich to launch its new generation of its TITECH finder sensor based metal sorting system.
Demonstrated on the TOMRA stand, the company said that the new TITECH finder features the its proprietary DEEP DATA technology, which allows the continuous collection, processing and analysis of multiple metal object data.
According to the recycling equipment manufacturer, the DEEP DATA system has been combined with its existing SUPPIXX® image processing technology, which enhances electromagnetic sensor resolution and allows greater recognition accuracy.
Operating in unison these two technologies are claimed to enable intelligent object recognition by identifying the smallest differences in terms of the metal fraction’s shape, size and intensity.
The company said that this allows the new generation TITECH finder to provide new sorting criteria for improving different sorting tasks such as wire recovery.
Working in conjunction with a series of newly designed high precision valves on the TITECH finder system, DEEP DATA is said to enable the valves to be controlled with more precision than ever before.
Additionally, the company said that because the valves have twice the resolution of their predecessors, increased ejection accuracy and an improvement of product purity of between 5% and 15% is achieved.
By continually monitoring the whole of the conveyor belt and checking for permanent metal inclusions, TOMRA said that the TITECH finder facilitates open process control and reduces misfires whilst optimising product quality and the stability of the sorting process.
“IFAT provides us with the ideal opportunity to launch our new generation TITECH finder to the world and show how it can be used to improve profitability by enhancing product purity and reducing operating costs,” commented Ines Hartwig, TOMRA Sorting Recycling’s product manager.

Circula - Deep Data - Keysound DOWNLOAD: https://sendspace.com/file/g2337q "Fare–brooding, self-conscious and ever-so-slightly menacing." Complex Here's a track from Circula (https://soundcloud.com/circula) that we couldn't manage to get clearance for... *** Order Certified Connections: goo.gl/Bcnws3 Over a year since the foundation-laying 'This Is How We Roll', a cluster of the Keysound family members return with a 14 track compilation of exclusive new tracks. It will be the 50th release on the label. The CD is shaped in an arc designed to reflect both the breadth and the flow of the music being made within the camp. Beginning with Logos’ beatless exercise in tension 'Metropolis' it moves through dark percussive 130 bpm rollage from Parris, Dusk + Blackdown, Aphix, Caski and Etch. Grimey influences begin to emerge via Wen and the Sully remix of Balistiq Beats ft Riko, before an explosion of synths and colour from Murlo, DLVRY and E.m.m.a. engulf the scene. Finally the compilation curves back down into a more abstract plane with Facta, Epoch and emerging lyricist/producer Luke Benjamin. The title for the compilation was crowd-sourced from the producers themselves, kicking around different suggestions until something was borrowed from a cluster of LHF-inspired blog posts Blackdown had written. The title was “something representative of the things that link us but also separate us” went the reasoning. This spirit of how 'Certified Connections' was selected seemingly reflects the strength of solidarity and the unity of purpose around these artists right now: working within a darker (but sometimes colourful), rolling (but sometimes arresting) and bassier (but not without subtleties) space. "Keysound is home for me, and listening through the compilation the doors are wide open to welcome edgy new talent to the family," said Wen. As well as contributing a track to 'Certified Connections', certain editions of the release will come with a special mixed version by one of the most exciting DJs from the camp and sometime Wen-collaborator, Parris, deploying his trademark blends and precision cuts. The release follows hot on the heels of Dusk + Blackdown’s recent vinyl doublepack of 130 based cuts 'Back 2 Go FWD>>', LV & Josh Idehen’s 'Islands' album and Moleskin’s 'Satis House' EP. “Certified Connections” is released on the 24th of November. Making Sense of All That Data
Transforming Big Data Information into Deep Data Insights
Yesterday I posted a question to several of the groups I belong to on LinkedIn. It was related to several of the things I’m interested and involved in: Systems Thinking, Knowledge Management, and Decision Modeling. It was somewhat informed, as well, by an articleappearing in the Huffington Post, where Otto Scharmer, a Senior Lecturer at…
