sometime not that long ago with @jaeinid
it’s strangely perfect, the way it all works out like he wants it to. a solid night of vocal practice means he gets let out early with strict instructions to relax and rest his voice. of course jinsung promises to take it easy, to head back to the dorms and to just watch tv for the rest of the night. and of course, jinsung lies through his teeth to his vocal coach.
instead he begs off a ride back from the company, says he’s simply going to run to the nearest convenience store and will just walk the rest of the way back to the dorms. it’s nothing he hasn’t done before, brought back contraband snacks that they overlook due to a job well done. but this isn’t the first, and won’t be the last time he’d lied about his plans. instead he starts in the direction of the store but quickly changes plans, settling into the cold spring night with no ideas and only bad intentions.
normally the stress weighs him down, cutting in deeper with embedded claws. tonight though, it falls off and fades away with each step. instead he stands taller, confident in an outfit that a few hours ago was a bit extra for a day spent around the company building. but now, with the late night hours settling in, it’s perfect.
jinsung’s not sure when this thing between them started, and if he’s being frankly honest he doesn’t particularly care; and right now, it’s short, it’s sweet and in some ways it’s perfect. as he cuts down a side street, familiar with navigating the streets of seoul, barely paying attention to where his legs are taking him, relying on music memory.
his eyes flicker up to the midas building looming in the distance and falls comfortably onto a bench a few blocks away from the imposing tower. comfortable with the mask that obscures his face from wandering and curious eyes, he types out a message halfheartedly to jaein. noraebang? club? nightmarket? pick your poison and get your ass out here. jinsung leans back, letting his head fall back as he shivers into his jacket and desperately wishes for a warmer spring.
