You huffed as he leaned on your shoulder. He easily towered over you, but by the goddess, you were going to get him out of the water and into the shade.
Carefully, you helped him onto one of the towels in the cabana. He groaned in appreciation as you pressed a cold rag to his forehead.
His lips slightly parted, sweat dripping down his body, and the scent of sunscreen drifted off of him. At that moment, the boar prince looked quite delicate, fragile, putty in your hands.
You laid a hand against his cheek, ever so softly, stroking your thumb up and down his sharp cheekbone. As you pulled it away, his hand shot up, holding your hand in its place.
“It’s...ok.” Dimitri’s icy blue eyes fluttered open. “Let’s just stay like this... for a moment.”
His face grew redder as you smiled softly down at him.
“Alright,” you agreed, leaning down to kiss his forehead. As you sat back up, his eyes had closed again, and you could tell from his soft breaths that he was sleeping.
