Alder loosens his hold around Agius’s middle, but doesn’t lift his face away from where it’s pressed against the man’s chest. His horns press against his flesh firmly, though the points are carefully aimed away as his tail flicks nervously from where it’s coiled against the tiefling’s own body. His claws tighten around the fabric of his shirt.

“Only if you promise me you’re going to come back.”

Alder’s voice comes out muffled and slightly disjointed, fear and concern heavily tainting his tone. He lifts his head and looks slightly up to both look Agius in the eyes and make his voice more clear.

“Only if you promise you’re not going to run off because you think it’d be better that way or some stupid cursed book is making you hate me again. Hate us.”
