Entangled, by Rebecca Quinn
a review.
Entangled (2023) is the second book in the Brutes of Bristlebrook trilogy by Rebecca Quinn, and like its precursor, it exceeds expectations. Where the initial installment focuses on introducing characters and their greatest fears when it comes to loves, Entangled promises new life for existing relationships and grueling tests for budding relationships between the six main characters; all while Eden harbors a colossal secret.
Falling in love with these characters is inevitable, and so enjoyable thanks to Quinn’s sheer talent for writing emotionally loaded scenes in a story set at the literal end of the world. The intimate scenes are amorously explicit and absolutely filthy in the best possible way. Oh and the smut featured in this book is rivaled only by the intense character development; and it all delivers in a big way. If you enjoy reverse harems with complex and shifting dynamics, you will love this book, but don’t say you weren’t warned about the marvelously crafted cliffhanger that will leave you begging for the final piece. Rebecca, if you are reading this, you’ve spawned a fan for life and I feel incredibly fortunate to follow your career.
Meanwhile at Bristlebrook, the once gilded and sprawling safe house has certainly been humbled. Beau and Lucky have a chance to reflect on their relationships while Jayk, Dom and Jasper are busy tracking the squad that took Eden from them. The librarian’s relationships with each of the vastly different men evolve constantly throughout the book as the men try to find a new balance among themselves as they all host a flock of new Day Death survivors,
It is difficult (and heartbreaking because I can’t binge more of her work) to imagine this series is author Rebecca Quinn’s first full-length project due to the way she masterfully builds an intricate universe of complex characters. Quinn does a phenomenal job exposing the true nature of her characters as they wrestle with their inner demons to survive in love, friendship, and life.
If you liked Den of Vipers or have simply run out of w/c with mm, give this a try!
