trump is now 100% sure he’s going to put an end to DACA, a program that helped over 800,000 immigrants stay here legally and get educations…. let that sink in ya’ll. the leader of a country essentially wants to get rid of and ruin the lives of 800,000 people. that means homes are going to be lost, businesses are going to be lost, jobs are going to be lost, and educations are going to be lost. kids who don’t even speak their parent’s native tongue are going to be forced back into a country they know absolutely nothing about.

it is very dictator-like and frightening for a leader of the so called “free world” wants to deport 800,000 people. this is ethnic cleansing at its finest and it’s up to us to make sure this doesn’t go through. hundreds of thousands of immigrant lives and futures are on the line and there IS a way to help.

DREAMers, don’t stop dreaming

You’ve probably heard by now that President Trump and his Attorney General Jeff Sessions have decided to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Originally created by President Obama, the program provided hope and protection to nearly a million children of undocumented immigrants, many of whom have grown up knowing no other nation besides the United States of America.

In their hearts, in their lives, DREAMers are Americans. And they are human beings. The cruelty of deporting them to an unfamiliar land is matched only by the recklessness of doing so. Immigration is vital to our identity, our economy, and our culture. To extinguish the dreams of DREAMers is not only unkind, but fundamentally un-American.

So, Tumblr, here are some ways you can help each other out:

Call Congress and tell them to pass the DREAM Act. There’s a six-month delay before Trump’s order kicks in, and that’s six months for Congress to get their act together on this. Light a fire under them, will you?

Join an event near you, and connect with others IRL who are fighting for what’s right.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself, especially if you’re one of the people directly affected by this. You can’t just fight—you also have to heal.

Tell your story. Tag it #DREAMer. Let people know what you’ve experienced, and let other DREAMers know they’re not alone.

I am not American but rescinding DACA is all kinds of fucked up and effects young people. I couldn't imagine being deported after living safely and legally for years and it shouldn't be a reality for 800,000 of people protected by DACA. I can't do anything but raise awareness so if you are American and able you can contact your local government and tell them to defend DACA, you can do this by texting RESIST to 50409 and all you need is your name, email and ZIP code. Or call them!
