A Break in the Storm
We’ve been getting a lot of rain lately here in socal, which has made for some nice photos in between storms.
Shield Liger DCU: Heavy Weaponry!
The Shield Liger Defensive Command Unit (DCU), paired with a set of double beam cannons makes for an intimidating force. A monster on the battlefield, with a strong forward facing shield and now equipped with massive cannons and larger missile pods, DCU can take what it can dish out. While slower and heavier with the new weapons, DCU is just as aggressive and does not shy away from close range combat, using its Shield to bash enemies and powerful legs and jaws to tear metal apart. Its pilot however prefers a more cautious approach, using the increased range to thin and weaken the enemy from afar before getting in close.
With new weapons comes new rules “If you’re going to pick a fight without me, don’t waste the ammo!”
Shield Liger DCU (Defensive Command Unit)
Finally got some nice shots of my custom Shield Liger, who can be rather hard to photograph nicely. But I love my frustrating red Shieldy. One of these days I want to get him the big guns he deserves, I just need to find some that I like and can apply to this model.
Shield Liger, Defensive Command Unit (DCU): Log 03
Stubborn, powerful, and aggressive, the DCU is not to be taken lightly. Its pilot calls it the embodiment of rage, the Zoid’s touchy nature often getting them both into trouble. And yet, the DCU seems to be a good judge of character, with its own, sometimes questionable, sense of justice. For its pilot at least, the reward money it brings in from these fights makes a bit of profit, after damages are taken care of.

Stolen or found? Perhaps a bit of both. First encountered crouched in a bed of battle debris, the lone surviving human and the last Zoid standing meet. Call it destiny or call it dumb luck, the aggressive and hard to handle former enemy Zoid didn’t kill him on the spot.

A sturdy Zoid with a focus on defense. With colors that bold its no wonder enemies target him first.
Custom HMM Shield Liger - Defensive Command Unit (DCU)
Made using a BT Shield Liger, this custom was both fun and frustrating. Frustrating because of mishaps with the paint which did not dry properly, dulled and scratched as I put the model together, and required more coats than expected, partially filling in some smaller details. My paint job is rather messy in some places, I just don’t have a very steady hand. But the model was still fun to build. This is my first Shield Liger, and while it falls victim to many of the same problems as the Blade Liger, it also feels sturdier, and the head can actually hold itself up. I also love the armored canopy that is unique to the BT version.
As of yet this Zoid doesn’t have a pilot or much of a story, but its story would take place in the same time as Ellsabell and Kat’s. He’d most likely be some sort of villain/antagonist, but maybe join the crew later as an ally.
