Future Generations Will Never Know How Great The 80s Was
Something that I often think about and that makes me sad is the future generation. Our kids will never understand how great the 80s truly were. I’m only 13, but I love the 80s. I grew up listening to old music and watching old movies. It makes me sad, that in a decade or two, the 80s will be forgotten. Soon, the 80′s will be like 1800s - forgotten. People aren’t gonna remember great bands like AC/DC, Guns ‘N Roses, Bon Jovi, Deff Leopard, KISS etc. I grew up listening to this music and I will make sure to never forget it.
As a young kid, I always loved The Karate Kid and Back to the Future. I would always watch those movies with my dad, and as I got older, I started to enjoy older movies like those ones, for example, The breakfast Club, Dirty Dancing, Top Gun etc. My dad would often hype me up about our last name, “Russo”. He would say, “It’s like Daniel LaRusso’s last name!” and that would get me all excited. Maybe the movies like The Karate Kid trilogy and The Mighty Ducks trilogy won’t be forgotten because of their shows and The Outsiders won’t be forgotten (hopefully) because every child will probably read the book and watch the movie at school. Or maybe they won’t. Maybe those kids will watch The Outsiders in school and then start to fall in love with the 80s, just like I did. But what if that doesn’t happen? When I do eventually have kids, I will make it my job to make sure the awesomeness of the 80s isn’t forgotten. I really hope the 80s doesn’t die out. I hope I’m not the only one that thinks this.
