zupfen (Verb) ~ to pluck, to pick (strings of an instrument, eyebrows)¹; to tug²
¹Ich zupfe meine Augenbrauen nicht. Es tut mir weh. “I don’t pluck my eyebrows. It hurts.”
¹Die Gitarristin zupft die Saiten leise. “The guitarist plucked plucked the strings softly.”
²Auf dem Marktplatz hat ein Kind mich am Ärmel gezupft. Er konnte seine Mutter nicht finden, und wollte Hilfe. “At the market, a child tugged on my sleeve. He couldn’t find his mother, and wanted help.”
