-Bruce, hip hop/popping from Poptikz
Hip Hop is a lifestyle and it is a part of who YOU are. It gives positivity to anyone, and the endurance to strive in the real world. An outlet, to take a break in the real world.

What Does Hip Hop Mean to You?
Hip Hop is an American culture that is part of my lifestyle. We live it, we breath it, it is who we are!

Hip Hop Means...
Learning the soul and culture of the minority.

Hip Hop to me means connection. The raw connection between people that helps me to feel grounded. Being surrounded by positive and happy individuals. It is more than just music, but a culture. Upon entering this scene and being embraced by its community, it has become vital. It helps me to remember to LIVE IN THE MOMENT! - Josh of Poptiks at UCSD

What has Hip Hop done for you? What Hip hop and dance did for my life is pretty damn amazing. I mean, I was depressed or at least I felt like I was nothing. Dance kept me distracted from all my worldly problems, when I entered the circle, and as I got out of it; Hip hop helped me gather my thoughts and face them. I couldn't turn to my family when it came to talking about my problems because my family was already broken both as a unit and emotionally. I couldn't turn to my best friend cause he has a family of his own and people I knew from high school went their separate ways. All I had was music and the dance-floor. Then soon after came great people and finally a sense of self. This is what Street dance and hip hop to brought me.
Fluidity
"Fluidity is my thing. I think I am an earth-bound mermaid. If there were a way to describe the way I dance, I have a lightness to my movement. Sometimes it's as if my feet don't even touch the ground."

The House Scene lost one of its greatest warriors this week. A woman who was known to shine and spread light every where that she went; she taught countless what it means to be a dancer and what it means to be a powerful woman. Thank you for the blessings you continually gave to this community.
