If this posts twice, Tumblr is acting weird.. I got a great surprise this week and got three more cards! Thank you @that-obnoxious-roommate @definitelytenrose and @thedoctorofsteel !! I can’t wait to try the tea, I am sort of hoping if I save it loving enough it will turn into an actual Tim Hortons 😜 @dwfandomcardexchange
Okay can you explain me the "they" thing... as you know my language has rules like the singular of the masculin and the singular of the femenin... I still don't get it, for me they is plural of the masculin or femenin... spanish and french are complicated stuff, and those are the languages I grow up with and english, is my third one and is very standard.
Oh wow! I hadn’t even thought about the fact that singular they wouldn’t make any sense in some languages.
Okay. In English, they is gender neutral. Because of that, there’s been a push for a number of years to use they instead of he as a generic pronoun. For instance, “When a person is driving at night, they need to turn their headlights on.” “A person” is singular, so in more traditional/male-dominated literature, the sentence would have been written “When a person is driving at night, he needs to turn his headlights on.”
We are finally, finally getting dictionaries and style guides to approve the singular they for this usage, and it is fantastic.
But a secondary shift is happening because of it. Now, people who don’t identify as male or female are claiming they as their preferred pronoun. It is a gender neutral personal pronoun that is already part of the English language, so it’s the perfect choice.
And then, to go one step further, people are slowly learning not to assume someone’s gender–to call someone they until you know for sure what they identify as.
So my point with the Doctor using they is that I would like for them to really reject humanity’s need for a gender binary and choose a gender neutral pronoun. I have no idea how that will work in translations to languages like Spanish and French, though. *ponder*

I'll save you!!!! okay what's your opinion about angsty fanfiction? (but very angsty)
THANK YOU! ;)
I like angsty fanfiction, but I do need some sort of a happy ending. I tend to gravitate towards OTPs that have a tragic canon story and so I look to fanfiction to make it all better, lol ;)

I liked this Q&A but really is very boring when they ask the same question, but in different way...
Yeah, I think they come to the panel prepared with their question, then don’t have a backup in case their question is already asked. :/
