He didn’t think anyone was home, he’d let himself in through the side door. It wasn’t like it was hard, and it most definitely was not the first time he’d broken into the Smith household while it was presumably unoccupied. Toxic Rick had been doing these supply runs routinely for as long as he’d been released from Rick, which technically made it his shit too. He’d thought of inventions and built them just as much as the regular Rick had- so it wasn’t theft. Not that he was above theft, because he’d do that if he couldn’t justify it.

So when he heard footsteps coming from the kitchen through the door leading back inside from the garage, he was understandably confused. Not confused enough to stop rummaging through miscellaneous boxes around the lab, however.
