I've been without an oven since April - and have had one on order since June. There have been so many supply-chain issues. It was supposed to be delivered in August, but it's been pushed back each month. My next "expected" delivery date is middle of November.

I really love baking - it's been such a source of anxiety relief for me. After my last call to my appliance store (which is local, and has been very kind and upfront about everything) I am truly beside myself - I miss baking in my kitchen. It's such a creative outlet - and I really haven''t been able to use it to explore my craft like I want to.

I've decided to make offerings to Hestia, Hermes, and Hephaestus to petition them for help with getting my new oven delivered and into my kitchen. I've been researching their stories and I've started making lists of things I could offer to honor them and ask for their help.

One of the things I've made is a little paper model of my oven - double oven with doors that latch closed and everything! I really like it, and I'm proud of what I've made. I'm going to fill it with the herbs I plan to offer to Hestia, Hermes, and Hephaestus.

I ask for Your ear

For but a moment,

Hephaestus,

Tamer of the Flame.

I ask if it pleases You,

To guide those fighting

To contain the fires

That rage across the land.

Impart to them Your secrets

To temper the blaze

As they work to save

Both homes and lives.

 To Athena, the Contriver,

I ask You lend wisdom to them,

To give them ideas on

How to curb the flames.

May You guide their strategies as they work.

To control the path and duration

Of the wildfires.

To help quell the flames.

So it may recover once again.

As the Ruler of all,

Of the foreigner and the city,

I ask You move on behalf

Of those in need now

And intercede with rain.

 To Eurus, the Eastern wind,

And His brother Boreas,

I ask You stay Your hands,

Holding back the Santa Ana winds

Which feed the flames.

Grant those fighting the fires

A respite from them

So the fires do not spread further.
