The sword is a Del Tin DT5166 Spada da Lato, a "side-sword" or "riding-sword" meant for everyday carry, not just in battle.
This design is a Norman Type 43 hilt, with a crossguard, two rings on the outside and sloping bars on the inside.
It was a popular style...
...and Del Tin makes several...
...but I like mine best.

Del Tin Sword Breaker Dagger
The Del Tin Sword Breaker Dagger is based on an early 17th century style. Daggers such as this were often wielded in the off hand as a parrying weapon in conjunction with a rapier. The unique blade style was used to trap the opponents blade, and in some cases snap it off. The guard and pommel are made of steel, while the grip is wood with a steel wire wrap and brass accents. The unsharpened blade is made of well tempered Chrome-Vanadium steel with a hardness of 50HRC and is peened to the pommel for durability.

Spada Vichinga (Viking Sword) by Del Tin
Based on finds from the tenth century, Del Tin have done well at recreating a very aesthetically pleasing Viking sword. The pommel and cross-guard are constructed out of brass using a wax casting. The grip is made from wood bound with a cord made of intertwined leather. The overall length sits at 100cm which is actually quite long for a viking sword. I assume it was used as a bit of a bastard sword, however the small grip suggests otherwise. It weighs in at 1.45kg.
As far as the tang fitting goes there isn't enough information on Del Tin's website to make a conclusion without taking it apart, however I was drawn to this sword primarily because of it's intricate decoration rather than it's steel type or blade construction.
Spadone A Due Mani by Del Tin
It’s been far too long since I’ve made a post on this blog, so I give you Del Tin’s incredibly long sword at 162cm, a true two handed sword.
" Venice, early Sixteenth Century. Large steel blade with three narrow fullers along the ricasso of great length and completed with two strong side lugs. Cuspidated quillon block with straight quillons spirally fluted terminating in knobs with two large side-rings. Fluted fig-shaped pommel. Wooden grip bound with leather with raised mouldings. Del Tin Schiavona
European military sword forged by Italian sword makers Del Tin. The term "Schiavona" may refer to a slavic woman in Venetian dialect. This reflects on the soldier's preference to refer to their weapons as a "she".
The double-edged sword is well tempered with chrome-vanadium steel and consists of a full length tang peened to the pommel. It's overall length is 102cm with the point of balance at 13cm from the pommel.
The basket guard offers full protection for the hand, however it's shear size may have intervened with the motion and twisting range of the wrist when swinging the sword.
