The Messiah's Vanguard is Pretty Cute~!
Looks like we got another Vanguard birthday, and it's the last birthday of January! Today, we'll be celebrating the birth of MY MAN, MY GOAT, MY ASSHOLE, MY LEGEND, and thee Vanguard of the messiah, Kouji Ibuki from Cardfight!! Vanguard!!!!
Kouji Ibuki is one of the antagonists in the manga, the 2018 reboot anime, and the movie Neon Messiah before becoming an ally in Cardfight!! Vanguard G. As a child, Ibuki played Vanguard with his childhood friends, Toshiki Kai and Miwa Taishi. He was always alone until Kai and Miwa came and played with him, only for Kai to move to constantly move due to his family situation and leaving Ibuki and Miwa alone. Frustrated, Ibuki would quit Vanguard until the Deletors reached out to him and manipulated him into killing the bonds of players and their units. Eventually, Ibuki would be stopped by Kai and Aichi Sendou, turning over a new leaf when he was given Harmonics Messiah. In Cardfight!! Vanguard G, he uses Messiah to redeem himself by helping Aichi, Kai, and the new cast to stopping whatever plans the enemies have! Personality wise, Ibuki is a very silent man who keeps to himself in order to not burden anyone. He prefers to work alone in order to atone for his sins of hurting everyone, but eventually learns to lean on people and does become a bit friendlier near the end. Now, he does his best to help people and loves kids! He's usually a very calm and level headed person, rarely getting angry during the course of the series unless you REALLY tick him off like in Neon Messiah and constantly calling him an old man. He specifically has a soft spot for Mamoru Anjou, one of his coworkers during the G era! Ibuki is voiced by Mamoru Miyano who's known for voicing Light Yagami from Death Note, Abidos the Third from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5, Chibi Gigan in Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, Cilan/Dent from the Pokemon: Best Wishes! series, Miden from HUGtto! Pretty Cure Futari wa Pretty Cure: All Stars Memories, Alucard from Castlevania: Judgement, Ultraman Zero from Ultraman Zero and the Ultraman series, Deathryuger in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Gaburincho of Music, and a lot more! Ibuki runs a Link Joker deck, a deck full of aliens that come to invade both Earth and the Planet Cray. Originally, Ibuki ran a Deletor deck, focused on destroying the opponent's ace unit by LITERALLY deleting their skills and attack until the end of the opponent's turn (in the series, this is shown by the ace unit LITERALLY being murdered and disappearing in the arms of the opponent as the Deletor stabs them to death) hence the name "Deletor." Depending on which iteration, Ibuki's ace Deletor would be Docking Deletor, Greion and Waving Deletor, Greidhol in the manga and the 2018 reboot anime while the movie has him use Daunting Deletor, Oksizz. In general, all three Deletors focus on stripping the opponent's units and leaving them defenseless so they can go in for the finishing blow. In Cardfight!! Vanguard G and the second season of the 2018 reboot, Ibuki would seek redemption and gain the access to Alter Ego Messiah and the Messiah archetype (who aren't evil aliens they're actually the dragon deity who governs creation and guards Earth and Cray from threats). The Messiah deck is a disruption deck, using the Lock mechanic which flips the cards of the opponent face down so they can't be used until the end of the opponent's next turn. However, Messiah would also lock their own cards in order to gain new abilities like extra power. Messiah also has the ability to unlock any amount of cards to gain more attacks! IBUKYUUUUUUUUN~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HIMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! I really love how much of a tragic and redeemed villain he is and adore his decks! In fact, Deletors and Messiah are the main Link Joker decks I play in real life! PLUS MAMOUR MIYAMO IS HELLA FUCKING AWESOME DUDE! Ibuki is a whack character that I enjoy seeing on screen cause of how cute he can be when he finally gets to relax! I mean...the IF anime shows that but mainly plays Ibuki as comic relief which is...stupid...there's so many things wrong with that IF series that I REALLY don't wanna talk about. But he's still one of the main reasons why I watched IF. One of the best parts of that damn season was Ibuki wearing a maid outfit. IT WAS SO CUTE OIFJH UIOASHFUGOSDJPIADS

You merely grinned, sticking out your tongue in a playful manner, twirling in your reindeer costume. "Being your reindeer, duh~!"
Ibuki grumbled as he facepalmed. "I don't need a reindeer…"
"Every Santa needs a reindeer!" you winked. "Come on Ibukyun! Lemme be your reindeer!"
Ibuki took a deep breath as he grabbed the santa costume off of his desk. "I told you (Y/N), I don't need a reindeer. I can handle being Santa for the kids myself. And don't call me by that nickname."
"But you let Mamoru do it!" you pouted, crossing your arms together. "Why can't I? I'm your partner!!!!"
"Because I said so." Ibuki hissed. "…besides…it's embarrassing."
You giggled as you placed a kiss onto his forehead, making him blush. "Awww, you're so cute Ibukyun~ come on~ the kid's Christmas event needs a Santa, so hurry up and get changed!"
"Then get out of my office."
