dElfcember, “Hope”

Fanart Friday style! Anybody order some extra soft, casual Kiliel for Christmas?

Dipping into Tolkien a bit for this prompt (and another in a couple of days!). Though their canon story was a tragedy, I feel like hope was a big part of Kíli and Tauriel’s romance – just the idea of the hope of being together, despite all they faced….which just feels super duper appropriate for this holiday season.

(Quick style note – I know they may not look exactly like their actors here, but I’m having fun figuring out how I would like to portray them, with the movie designs as a basis. I refuse to draw Kíli without some semblance of a full beard. Prepare for that to become more of a thing.)

And if you’d like to reject canon and believe everything worked out Just Fine, may I suggest Moonraykir’s “Even Dragons Have Their Ending” series? Everyone lives, and it deals with the intense culture-clash and political muckity muck that would come from Kíli and Tauriel trying to be together, in the face of Kíli’s role as prince, and the animosity between their peoples (among other, darker things).

For the prompt on the 21st, “A prompt of 2019.” I didn’t get to participate last year, so looking at that list, I HAD to pick this one. Still freaking out a little.

This may have been the most fun thing I have ever ever drawn.

(And design-wise, I went with Minako’s Princess form instead of her sailor uniform, since it was easier to Elfify. I chose to pretty much keep it as it is with a few adjustments/minor embellishments, as such. And of course, she’s curvy, as my take on Usagi is always curvy and she’s Usagi’s bodyguard-double.)

dElfcember, “Centaur”

Almost last of the prompt list catchup posts, I think (there’s one more from earlier in the month, and the next few, including what’s technically today’s, will be up later in this week – just a day or so off, each).

So. Here’s a Centaur of “Tock the Gnome,” having physically manifested to hunt and gotten into a disagreement with a smaller faerie. Luckily this Elf stepped in to try and smooth things over. May all three go about their day peacefully – and may yours go peacefully, too!

#dELFcember day 31 (and a complete challenge!), prompt - #yoursElf ....to which I say that *I* don't exist in the #tockthegnome world (that I've been mostly focusing on) but Mariatu certainly does! She's been a part of the story since before Tock herself even existed, and certainly stands more for me than any other character (and Misu, for my Wife 💙). She stands for much of who I thought I wanted to be when I created her as a teenager, and much of who I do want to be in the world now. She's evolved with me, and for that I am very grateful. The #gnome she's holding is based on the #uppsala Gnome from the books by #rienpoortvliet and #wilhyugen, in honor of my Gnomishness (even though dear Maraitu ended up #elven !
