When we visited Germany lately the aquilegias were still in full bloom. I have fallen in love with these beautiful, romantic, and delicate bell-shaped flowers that make you feel like the garden fairies can’t be far away, all over again. I thought that the blooms were unusually big and the flower stalks very tall. It might have been due to the cool and rainy spring that Germany was experiencing this year. The photo was taken in Lübeck, Germany about three weeks ago. I wonder if aquilegias would thrive in Austin, too? Do any of my Texan flowers know? To me these blooms would fit perfectly into the cottage garden that I am trying to create here in my own little slice of green heaven. Wishing everyone a calm and happy Sunday!
