pitting the guy whos every action is driven by guilt and the guy who every action is driven by justice was incredibly slay of cacw
Ok so it's like, late 2006, it is winter, we are 14 and in Mr. Abbott's geography class which is low-key exciting not only because poor Mr. Abbott's senses of smell and hearing are on the downturn, but because Geography is an elective so we get to mix classes for it, and I get to sit next to Ellen which is a treat because she is super nice and super soft spoken and she gets all the new books first and she asks me in a hushed reverent whisper "Have you read Twilight?" And I say, equally hushed that no I've never heard of it, and then, she, with this subtle Cheshire grin and the flourish of a magician pulls out the first Twilight paperback from under her school regulated cardigan (a hideous monstrosity favoured only by private school with uniforms), and she tells me that she thinks I'll like it. Roshini, from on the other side of me, the final piece of our miniature book club, gives a half amused half disgusted grunt, because apparently even then it had become apparent that I was destined to be romance novel trash. I gave her no mind and started reading the book during lunch break. I read it on the bus home, and into the evening, only hiding it during dinner because I could not afford confiscation. I finished it around 8p.m. and immediately went onto the family computer because though my education in YA romance had been heretofore lacking (the romance in Harry Potter and the animorphs did not exactly- ah- serve the particular purpose Twilight did), I did know how to torrent like nobody's business, and I had gotten my hands on New Moon and started on that immediately. I then had to go to bed, so I obviously snuck into the computer room after everybody went to sleep and finished the book. I then lay in agony from about 5 in the morning till I had to "get up" to go to school, and when I got to class, I sauntered over to Ellen's class, kept her copy back on the desk, dangled a 32mb usb stick and went "would you like New Moon?"
ok first of all this is a delightful read, you really painted a picture here
second of all, torrenting new moon in 2006?? what an insane power move I couldn’t torrent shit back then
third of all how dare you say the romance in animorphs was lacking, I’m outraged and incensed on behalf of jake and cassie and tobias and rachel and ax and cinnamon buns
(are you an andalite? because you have no taste)
