A PAIR OF AMBER, gentle with a radiating warmth. the habitual hardened gaze of ice, thawed and softened by the small sunshine of his life. never had she uttered complaints, always adapted at her pace and with ease. a father couldn’t be any more proud. her tough front was more than commendable but burdened herself, body and soul. one he couldn’t bare to witness, not while she remained in his life. even the subtle pain of trudging through the thick of the woods, her feet surely sore and worn. she kept on, doing her utter best, as always.

“Hey, don’t take this personally.” A voice says from Aoi’s right. “But you’re with me for the time being. Welcome to Casa de Evildoom.”
The voice belongs to former pro-hero turned villain Hawks, or Keigo as he’s started to go by once more. The man gives the teenager a cheery wave, perched on top of an old table, sharp talons on his feet digging into the wood.
“Well, maybe don’t tell Chapstick I call it that.” He scratches under his chin. “He doesn’t like any of my nicknames for things. I think I rock at it. Anyways! You won’t be here for long, promise.”
“See, you kinda stumbled into a fight between some heroes and my team! Since you’re just a small fry I decided to pull you out. Can’t stand to see kiddos get involved in hero business, you’re really too young for that sort of thing! But y’know, society being what it is, everyone wants to be a hero younger and younger. My advice? Forget this bullshit and pick another career!”
