I’ve been forgetting to take my materials pics. I didn’t use the ribbons because I had a pair of blue heels and I’m just not confident on attempting to make stilettos yet, but maybe soon. Nail art rhinestones. The floral is something I’ve had from my grandmother for many years, still a little bit of it left. I’m pretty sure I acquired these two aqua remnants at separate times. This is why I never leave a remnant bin un-scavenged; might find something that matches up perfectly later.

I”m satisfied with how this came out. Evening wear is never my favorite for some reason. Making the rhinestone stud earrings and hat pins was super easy so I’ll keep that kind of thing up I guess. The rhinestone hairnet was a last minute addition but I also had aqua tulle, so why not? Gluing down almost 700 rhinestones over this whole outfit took awhile! Anyway I guess that’s it.

Lobster Bisque soup in a Mintons seaweed pattern soup plate from the 1870s. I loaned dinnerware from my collection for Judith Choate’s book on the history of Delmonico’s Restaurant published about 15 years ago by Abrams.
