Paris in 1880-1900. These fabulous photos are the testimony of the past ❤️
1. In 1887, the Eiffel Tower was not yet finished, but it already had its red color which it will keep until 1906.
2 The Moulin Rouge was the first Parisian building to use electricity because it needed a sign that could be seen from far away all night long.
3. The Place and the Pont Saint Michel have not changed since 1900, unlike Notre-Dame which has lost its spire for a few years. It will be rebuilt identically in a few years.
4 The Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States, already looked great in its Parisian construction workshop in 1884, two years before its inauguration in New York.
