Come home {DeltOoNz}
A beat up pickup truck and a hundred dollar bill in his wallet. Jonathan was filled with dreams, and he wasn't going to give up. He was full of spunk and ever lasting inspiration. He didn't know where he was going, but he still had giant red circles around big cities he'd like to live in. Chicago, L.A, New York City, and even Dallas. If you didn't know Jonathan, you'd never think that this small town boy would want to live in these overly famed cities. But hey that was Jonathan! Piles of canvas and paints covered safely with tarp, and a duffle bag filled with clothes, stored away in the back of his truck. Gas was cheap and he was ready to go. He was excited, jumping for joy when he told his family. His mother cried and his sister begged him not to go. His father left so he wouldn't shout his disappointments, but his father knew he would soon regret it and come running home saying how right his dad was. But he never did. He hardly remembered to tell his best friend he'd be leaving, he only remembered when he was out of state and Luke called to chat...It broke Luke's heart to know his best friend forgot to say goodbye, but he never told him that. Instead he said "you'll do great", and meant it. Luke cared to much. Not once had Jonathan called home. Not once had he said goodnight to his best friend. But hey he was probably having the time of his life out there. Luke never knew when his friend was coming home, and dear God did he miss him. Luke had made it part of his route home to go to the entrance to his small town and wait. Jonathan never came. Years had passed and it seemed Jonathan was never coming home. His family moved on, ignoring the fact that their missing one other person at the dinner table, but Luke couldn't. He suffered patiently. Luke is now twenty-five, an age where he would be getting the hell out of college and his friend would still be suffering. Luke would drive out the university to pick up his best friend. They'd go to the old ice cream shop in the town square and blare their favorite songs on the radio as the drive. But because his best friend left so quickly Luke decided he'd wait for college, just like he'd wait for his best friend. Luke and Jonathan's sister got to know each other a little more, and even started dating somewhere in that time. After Luke had started his relationship with his best friend's sister he stopped going to the entrance of town, but still kept hope. He still waited. Luke is now twenty-seven, an age where he came home from living in Virginia with his ex-girlfriend because of work. The relationship didn't work out, she was to formal for Luke and became so nit picky over everything he did. She didn't like how free spirited he was, and he didn't like hoe strict she was, so it only made since for them to cut it off. She stayed there while he came home. He worked at the airport now, fixing and building engines. It wasn't fun. In fact it was quite the opposite, and so Luke became unhappy. Unhappy and lonely. Luke is now thirty, an age he hoped to reach with his best friend beside him, but like the last thirteen years of his life he didn't. His birthday cake, home made by his girlfriend of two years, didn't wear candles and the famous birthday song wasn't sung. He and his girlfriend watched movies until late into the night when she went to bed. Though Luke had told her he'd join her soon he couldn't, he was restless. His life was in an endless cycle of go to bed, wake up, go to work, go home, go to bed. He wanted more than this. He wanted the fun and creativity back in his life. He wanted his best friend back. Luke is now thirty-three, an age he finally smiled at. His last girlfriend left him for someone happier, but hey that's okay, really his heart had a spot reserved for someone else. Luke was at home, as it is the weekend, playing on his brand new Xbox one. He was in an online game with another friend he grew up with, Gorillaphent, a funny gamer tag but so was his. He laughed his ass off as they played. And then it happened. H2ODelirious wants to be your friend. Luke didn't know who it was, so he ignored it, continuing his gaming session with his only friend. "Hey Luke, got a spare bed?" He didn't notice the message, as his eyes sealed shut he was laughing so hard. But he would, he would see the message just before bed, and he'll cheer and cry when he does. "Because I'm coming home."

Superstitious
Luke always said Jonathan was a bit too superstitious. Maybe he was. He read his horoscope every morning, avoided the neighbor who owned a black cat (which is why he got a dog in the first place), and threw salt over his shoulder every time he spilled it. He took amazing care of any mirrors in his house, avoided walking under ladders, and most definitely never left his house on Friday the 13th. Yep, he was definitely a little too superstitious. “See a penny pick it up, all the day you’ll have good luck!” Maybe a little more than just a little bit. “Oh! It’s heads up too!” Okay, a lot more than just a little bit. Luke let out a hearty laugh. They had spent all day roaming about town window shopping, cause why not? Ain’t nobody gonna tell them what to do. “So what did your horoscope say today?” Luke was quite the opposite of superstitious, and couldn’t truly care less about horoscopes and lucky pennies and all that mumbo jumbo. It’s just a bunch of made up bullshit to make people paranoid. But this was Jonathan. His best friend. He’d do anything to keep him happy. “Said somethin’ bout an upcoming change in my life, and meeting my last romance.” Yep. Complete bullshit. Jonathan’s life had been the same since he moved out of his parents place more than seven years ago. “That’ll be interesting.” Jonathan hummed in response. “Shame though. We’ve been out and about, and haven’t run into really anyone.” Jonathan simply smiled, confidence clear on his face. “It’ll happen just be patient.” “Yep the person of your dreams will fall right out of the sky, right in front of your feet. If that happens I’ll give you twenty and fix your shitty car for free.” Really, Luke hated this. He hated betting on Jonathan’s love life and his for that matter. He didn’t like mocking Jonathan, or putting him down, but Luke spoke before he could think. “It’s a deal.”
The boys had found themselves wandering the small town they call home until the sun disappeared under the horizon. When the moon was fully out it was Luke who wanted to go to their favorite spot. As they had grown up here in North Carolina there were many places the two enjoyed, but there was only one that they could call their favorite. It was an old oak tree in the middle of a field miles and miles away from the town they live in. There were no lights to ruin the night, and the area had been left alone from the city. It had been years since they’ve been here.
They sat under the tree as children giggling and laughing. They chased each other in the field until dark. When the sun had set the two would lie down under the tree cuddled up close together. They had found this spot one day when they declared they would run away after Jonathan’s grandfather passed away. They shouted that they would never come back home and that they would leave and go on their own adventures! Their mothers simply giggled and told them to take care and packed them a few sandwich, knowing good and well the boys would come back home missing them. Sure enough they were right the two boys came back to them the next morning, but they spoke of their adventures like they had been out in the world for twenty or so years. Even though all they had found was this tree. Since that day after school the two would take off running from the bus stop to the tree, not even bothering to drop their backpacks off at home. “Mama hasn’t caught me stealing these. Knock on wood.” Jonathan reached over to the tree and knocked on it like it was a door.
“Why’d you do that?
Jonathan passed the cookies he had stolen from his mothers bakery over the weekend to Luke. "Do what?”
The young ginger smiled and tapped on the tree. “That.”
Jonathan simply shrugged and stuffed the chocolate chip cookie into his mouth. “My grandpa used to say it got rid of a jinx.”
Luke couldn’t help but smile at the memory. Yes, Jonathan’s mother never did find out about the cookies, or maybe she did and just didn’t care. None the less that’s where all this started. Jonathan became superstitious because his grandfather was, and when the man passed away that’s all he had to hold onto his grandfather’s memory. That’s why Luke never liked to put his friend down, about being superstitious. “Luke?”
Like when they were young the two laid under the tree, with Jonathan cuddled against him with his right arm laying across Luke’s stomach. “Hmm?”
“The stars are out.”
When they were teenagers, before either one of them had graduated high school, Luke had gotten into astronomy. He loved the stars so much that his dad had actually bought him a telescope for his sixteenth birthday. Every Friday night Luke and Jonathan would sneak out, even though their parents already knew, and go out to the oak tree in the field to play with it. Well every Friday excluding the thirteenth. Luke would point out constellations and tell Jonathan everything he knew about them, and he loved every minute of it. “Have I told you about Cassiopeia?” Jonathan shook his head, lazily snuggling his face into the oldest’s chest. Luke couldn’t help but smile at his sleepy friend’s actions. “She was the beautiful wife to Cepheus, the king of Ethiopia, and was the mother of Andromeda. She had made the mistake of bragging that she was much more beautiful than the Nereids, and Juno. The Goddesses were insulted, and went to Neptune to complain. He sent a sea monster to attack the coast, and the only way to stop it was for the king and queen to sacrifice their daughter. They would of done it too if Perseus hadn’t stopped the beast. As reward Perseus wed their daughter. Now Cassiopeia is beside Neptune in the night sky; however to humiliate her further Neptune has her placed so that she sits in her throne with her head help up to the northern Star.” Luke couldn’t help but giggled to himself. “So half of every night she’s upside down. Can you imagine how shitty you’d feel in the morning?” No answer, just crickets and a light late night breeze. “Good night John. I love you.”
Really short I know. Been pretty busy lately. And I’ve had this short story since I think June, and it was just never really completed. So I’ve been going through all my unfinished short stories and have been trying to finish them. Anyways let me know what y'all think! Night guys!
What You've Done ~ Deltoonz
Sorry this is my first story with this ship, I hope you like it. He sat there, confused to as why there was a bandage on his head. Also for having any godly idea of were he was. The only thing that he could remember was him, him and all his glory. Slowly he moved to push himself off the bed. Once his feet hit the floor he was busy. Busy trying to figure out who he is, and what is going on. His feet seemed to burn as he stepped, he was sweating, breathing heavily, it was as if the world around him us on fire. It was like someones fiery was constantly upon him. His eyes soon reached the window of the room, fire, cinder, and ash stretched for how far he could see. Where he stood soon began to melt and spread through the building to show a burning and burnt living quarters. He jumped back, stumbling into a surprisingly sturdy wall. He started to hyperventilate even though it was hard enough already. His body stopped functioning, a crackling could be hard somewhere nearby. His breath stopped, his mind bloomed with memories. Him, he could remember everything, he wished he never remembered. He knew why he was hear, every single reason. 《》《》《》《》《》 He sat with a happy smile, today was the day Jonathan was coming over. Luke had been waiting a month to show Jon his new place. He was clamming himself, it wasn't the fact that he liked Jon or anything. Not long after the doorbell rang. Luke basically jumping from his seat, he ran to the door and calmly opened it. It revealed a short, blue eyed, black haired, pierced, clown and teddy bear freak stood. Behind him stood a taller, slender, tattooed, grey eyed man with his arm around Jonathan's torso. Hiding his jealousy and rage, he smiled letting them in. Luke showed them around his place, but the whole inter time the new man made jokes, stealing Luke's crush and best friend. His name turned out to be Max and has been dating Jon for two and a half months. Luke hid his anger while Max played all the games he planned to play with Jon, Luke could sense something was off about Max. Max and Jon cut their trip short to go get food. Long after he left Luke realized Jon only looked and spoken to him once, his attention was always on Max. Luke growled to himself, jealousy and anger he had hid started to take over. Getting up, Luke stormed to his desk and opened the top drawer, he pulled out a small pistol. He put it his pocket, and was off. Driving to his detestation he thought so many things on how to end his problems. Deciding on one, he let a devilish grin rest on his face. Once he got close to his target he could see it was going to be harder than he thought. The driveway of Jonathan's place was packed. Parking he realized who each car belonged too. Uttering angry profanities under his breath he walked up to the door and rang the buzzer. Making sure his gun was hidden, and the thing he has been waiting to give Jon in his hand. Only to make his story sound true. The door was soon answered none other than Jon. A smile on his face, but this one seemed to be fake. Without hesitation Luke told him 'I've been meaning to give the wrapped box to him, and that I forgot to earlier'. His smile turned real, as he turned and lead Luke to the party. The guys all sat around Max, who was apparently telling a story. Luke saw Jon's new birthday loot on the couch. It was the type of things he used to get to Jon, but what Luke was going to give him was much better. Jon took his present and took his place on the couch. He childishly ripped off the paper, and open the box. Once he saw it he looked at Luke in the eye, making the smile that melts his heart. Luke smiled and nodded yes, his eyes light up more. He swiftly put on the real mask, not some cheap plastic piece of garbage. Jon started making jokes and told everyone what it was, while Max dragged Luke outside one on one conversation. Max began to yell profusely at him, telling him to back off of Jonathan, Luke didn't care he was going to protect Jon till the end of time. All Luke had to say was taking his gun out off hiding and shooting Max multiple time. Before anything else could happen, he ran making it to his car he heard Jon yell, "Luke! What you've done can never be undone! Go to fucking hell!". Luke quickly drove off, Jon's words just sinking in. Luke just realized what he just did. Luke began to feel guilt and remorse, he began to hate himself. He never saw the car coming at him in his lane, once Luke saw it it was to late. They collided, one car got crushed and rolled off of the road. The other stayed still, severely damaged but the drunk passenger fine. Luke in the last moments of life thought of him, Jonathan. And with his last words he mumbled through the blood,"I'm sorry, a don't worry I'm getting what was com'en to me." Meanwhile Jon was taking with a cop. Jon regretted everything he had said or done to Luke today, he was just given the bounty for Max's head, wanted dead or alive. 《》《》《》《》《》 Luke slowly looked up, tears in his eyes, taking a deep breath and squeezed his eyes shut. He screamed at the top of his lungs, the things he wished he could redo and that he was sorry for everything he has done wrong. He felt the world around him fade away to a much colder place. He slowly opened his eyes to see the small area he once sat everyday. He soon moved his eyes to see if anything has changed, to only find a tombstone and Jon. Jon was fast asleep with tear stains on his cheeks, and the tombstone was his own. Taking a seat next to Jon, Luke sighed as he vowed to stay by his side. And he knew what he had done could never be undone, but he sure as hell could try.
