In the DLPG world, Yixi (and also Cong Zheng and Sheena) was an android who was originally designed to be an idol entirely controlled by her agency. Etta designed her appearance, while her mechanical body and emotional programming were created by Danny.
So perhaps this is what she was supposed to look like in the design sketches… Sweet and cute but she doesn't like to be that at all.
Now she has left that place, wearing the clothes she likes and doing the things she enjoys.
