It’s been three years since the war against Hybern, and Prythian has finally settled into an uneasy peace. For Demetria, cousin of Kallias who was married to Eris Vanserra just before Amarantha’s wicked scheme, it means settling into her role in the Autumn Court with her young daughter Holly.

During a peace celebration amongst the courts, Demetria meets Illyrian warrior Cassian and the unthinkable happens—a mating bond clicks into place between the two of them.

Demetria is shocked and humiliated, determined that it will change nothing in her tumultuous marriage to Eris. But as she denies her attraction to Cassian, more shocking secrets come to light, including things that she never even suspected about herself. And the uneasy peace begins to fracture, the threat of war looming over all of them once more.

If at all, who is better for Demetria to be with - Eris or Cassian?

Definitely Cassian.

Demetria's relationship with Eris is tense. They're married and care for each other in a sense, but it was a political match more than anything. Eris views Demetria as more of a possession than an equal, and she knows this and finds it frustrating. She constantly strives to prove herself worthy, but Eris is quite dismissive of her worth.

Cassian, on the other hand, recognises the potential in Demetria. She's a powerful daemati and very clever, and besides that, he actually treats her with respect. Demetria is very sweet despite her shyness, and Cassian definitely encourages her to come out of her shell a lot more.

It's a difficult dynamic to navigate because the mating bond is seen as very sacred to the High Fae, however Demetria is also married to Eris, who is very mercurial and would not take kindly to anyone, let alone Cassian, laying claim to someone he feels is his.

Maddie my love. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my grandfather two years ago but I’m reminded of it every day whenever I see my grandma by herself. You’re surrounded by everyone who loves you and we are all here if you need us. Tell me about some OCs you haven’t written a story for yet. What are their backstories? How significant are they to the plot of the fandom they are in or the story you are hoping to write? Gimme 3 to keep you busy my dear.

Thank you gorgeous <3 I’m fortunate in that, by complete coincidence, I was already visiting my siblings when it happened, so it’s good that we’re all together at this time.

Alright let’s think of 3 ocs:

Valencia Jinn is my Star Wars oc. I guess if we’re getting technical, I’ve started her story, I just haven’t posted any of it yet. She’s a Padawan of around 24 years old at the time the story starts, which is in Attack of the Clones. She and Obi-Wan Kenobi have always been good friends - after all, he was her father’s Padawan - however their feelings become romantic and more complicated around that time. I feel like Valencia is fairly vital to Obi-Wan throughout the Clone Wars period, and she’s also got a history tied in to a major antagonist - both through her dad and in her own way. So I guess she ties a few elements together, so to speak.

Rory Coventry is my The Order oc. She’s Edward’s eldest child by a scant year, and a devoted member of The Order. Her life has always been easy and she’s spoilt, but she’s not really sure what she wants in life, going off the ambitions of her parents. She plays a key role in the struggle between The Order and The Knights - initially Hamish Duke gets close to her to try and figure out more about The Order, however he develops feelings for her. But things get really hectic when he’s forced to kill her ruthless paternal uncle, Sydney. So it’s a relationship that really has a lot of tension - they’re on opposite sides, he’s a teacher and she’s a student (although not HIS student), and of course he killed her uncle.

Demetria Lancaster is my ACOTAR oc. I seriously don’t know how popular that fandom is around here, so I haven’t talked much about her as I don’t see many people posting about ACOTAR. She’s a young high fae lady who’s married to Eris Vanserra, and is the mother of his daughter, Holly. Demetria is seen as meek and submissive initially, but then her mating bond clicks with Cassian. Of course it causes all sorts of problems as Demetria is, however unhappily, married. So it’s not an easy journey, and the fact that she has a child is also a contributing factor to Cassian’s reluctance. He doesn’t want to feel like he’s taking her away from a family.

Does Demetria have a place/position in the Court of Dreams alongside Cassian? If so, what is it and how does she fit in, if at all?

She does! Considering she is daemati, Demetria is very useful for interrogations. She can get into people's heads without them ever knowing she was there. It makes her a more appealing option in some instances than having someone torture them.

Does Demetria have any kind of interaction with Feyre and her sisters? If so, can you headcanon it?

She does! It takes the inner circle a while to build up trust in Demetria, but Feyre and Demetria both have in common that they're young (granted, Feyre is literally 20 while Demetria is 75, but in terms of high fae standards and compared to the others, they're both young). Feyre is one of the more open and welcoming ones with Demetria.

Just curious about how Demetria navigates The Autumn Court and with a child in tow. What is her relationship like with Holly?

Ooft well the Autumn Court is notoriously cutthroat, so she does find it difficult. Demetria has an introverted and quiet personality, so she does her best to keep her head down around Eris's brothers. Demetria is also very observant though, so she's clever in an underestimated way.

Demetria adores Holly. Her daughter was born not long after Under The Mountain, and she really is a warm and maternal person. However, she's also protective of Holly, especially because she fears as Eris's only child, the girl could come under threat by Eris's brothers.
