Of course, he could always go back on that, if it isn't as entertaining as he wants. So keeping him happy is a good idea for those he claims. He says it all like it's entirely normal, but for mortals it's a matter of eternal pleasure/damnation versus any semblance of free will.

Asmodeus is officially the Duke of Lust, Lord of Pleasure, but in practice he's basically the demon king. The current demon king is a woman and he's completely ruined and intoxicated her to the point she knows to just let him do whatever he wants. The other six are constantly vying for the demon king's throne but Asmodeus doesn't even need to overthrow her, he's perfectly happy with their current arrangement - and if there's anything he dislikes there's no one to stop him from changing it.

"What's Wrath going to do, beat her up? Not like she can die, we're in hell. And I guess Greed'll show off their gold collection at her? While Pride makes a PowerPoint about why they're the best? None of them can do anything to her. But for me~? No one is immune to pleasure~."
