Thingy story fight for my avatar!
(Okay so here goes. Btw this probably isn't that good since the effort I put into it was... Moderate. It's also like 7 pages long. ((There is eventually a fight)) But I hope you like it!)
“Quicker! Keep your eyes on the enemy Indigo!” Indigos father barked orders from behind the young girl as she diligently sliced the dummy across its torso.
Her breath was heavy and uneven. Her muscles were aching and practically screaming at her to slow down.
“How,” slice, “much,” chop, “longer?!”
The old man had dragged Indigo out of bed at 6am into the combat field and it was safe to say that Indigo was pissed. He checked his watch, sighing, as though he was disappointed with his daughter for being so peeved at him. “Do a round of 50 sit ups and then you can go get ready for your classes.”
She cursed under her breath before sliding her throwing knife in the gap of her band that she used to hold her knifes which wrapped around her arms. Indigo dabbed her forehead with her favourite scarf, wiping away the beads of sweat that had formed during her attacks. She plopped on the ground and continued to do her sit ups like she had been instructed.
“Will you have a chance to practise your lightning attacks? You need to work on them some more.”
The panting girl scoffed. “I’ll train some more with Lenore at break.” She murmured between each sit up.
“Good. You should be done now. Go get ready.”
Indigo shot up and saluted sarcastically to her Dad before jogging back into the house.
Once the girl had disappeared Christian sighed and stroked his neatly cut goatee. “She’s a good girl..” He reminded himself before lifting the dummy up effortlessly.
Meanwhile, Indigo slipped her blue training vest top off with her scarf and stretched until she heard the satisfying pops and cracks. On her bed lay her summer outfit which consisted of a waistcoat that was coloured with different shades of blue and had a lightning strike mark down the back until it parted into two tails. Beside it lay her pair of goggles (which she never really wore unless she had technology class.) And lastly her navy blue shorts and leather boots were also included.
It took the girl 20 minutes to get ready and she stood proudly in front of the mirror as she brushed through her blonde hair (and making sure that the electric blue streak that ran through her fringe was visible.)
“Fuck yes.” She grinned in the mirror, quickly winking at herself before heading into the sitting room.
Indigo checked the clock above the fire and tutted. “Only 10 minutes before i need to head out..” She silently weighed her chances. Would she be able to make and drink a cup of tea in ten minutes? She was going to try.
She bolted into the kitchen and hurriedly clicked the kettle on which, thankfully, was already full.
She yelped as she turned around, surprised to find her B,m ,rother leaning against the door frame in his blood red pyjamas which had chibi designed devils printed all over the cotton. “Jesus Indi, you’re still here?” He grinned smugly.
The girl twisted around to look at the clock. “Shit!” She swore as she only had 5 minutes and the kettle still hadn’t finished boiling.
“Oi, language.” Dex raised his brow.
Click.
“Shut up D.” Indigo growled as she raced from one end of the kitchen to the other for a mug.
“Not a chance.” He laughed, grabbing a mug for himself. “Here make me one while you’re at it.” Dex smirked, ignoring the deadly glare he had been receiving from his little sister.
Once the tea was made Indigo desperately tried to gulp the scalding liquid as her time grew thinner and thinner.
“Here,” Dex slid a flask over to her smoothly. “put it in that and drink it on the way.”
Indigo quickly thanked him, ignoring the raspiness of her voice and the painful burn in her throat. “Now go Sparks otherwise you’re gonna be late!” Dex pushed her out the front door and waved at his sister.
After what felt like hours, Indigo finally reached the gates of her school. “Thank fuck for that.” She sighed, tugging at her scarf slightly.
Indigo casually looked up at the rising sun and shivered lightly. Mornings were still pretty chilly despite it being summer.
“Yo, Indi!” Her best friend, Lenore called from behind Indigo as she jogged next to her.
“Whatsup Lenny?” Indigo grinned, throwing her arm around Lenore but being careful not to stab her with her knives.
Lenore and Indigo had known eachother since the beginning of high school and as far as they were concerned, nothing could tear them apart. “Ohh y’know not much i guess? But it is really fucking cold right now so can we pick up the pace?”
A smirk tugged lightly at Indigos lips as an idea popped up in her head. She came to a stop and crouched slightly as she bent her legs in a starting position. Lenore frowned at her friend. “Race you!” Indigo yelled as she darted towards the doors to her school.
“Bitch that’s not fair!” Lenore raced after her.
It was obvious that Lenore wouldn’t be able to catch up to her friend. Unless she had some tricks up her sleeve. Which she did. Always.
“Fine, if you’re not gonna play fair..” Lenore muttered as she formed a metal skateboard in front of her. “Then either am I!” She jumped onto it and began kicking, leaving a thin trail of steel behind her.
Lenore smoothly slipped past Indigo, leaving her astonished. She turned her head as she kept on kicking and stuck up her middle finger at Indigo, giving her a smug smirk. Her victory face morphed into a frown as Indigo began flailing her arms around and pointing at her. “What is she doing?” Lenore muttered before she slammed straight into the doors of the school.
She fell to the ground groaning in pain, waiting for her friend to assist her.
“Pffft! I-i can’t stop l-laughing!” Indigo spluttered between laughs.
“Yeah yeah.. Just help me the fuck up please?” Lenore rubbed her forehead after she gingerly sat up.
“Yeah o-okay hang on.” Indigo bit her lip to stop any sudden chuckles as she lifted her friend up back to her feet. “Come on clumsy, I want to get inside.”
****
Zap!
Indigo flung an electric charged throwing knife at her friend who flipped to the side expertly, allowing the knife to fly past her hip. In response to the throw, Lenore formed a metal disk at the palm of her hand and hurled it at Indigo.
“Shit!” Indigo hissed as the disk almost sliced her left arm.
Lenore tutted. “Come on Indi, you have to be faster than that.”
Indigo rolled her electric blue eyes and smirked. “Says the girl who doesn’t know how to slow down.”
Lenore growled and threw another deadly disk which flew over Indigos head. “Shut up about that.”
“Never.” Indigo winked as she pointed at her friend in a sideways ‘L’ shape and shot a bolt of lightning out the tip.
The fight carried on from there, neither of the two taking it too seriously and took turns in attacks. Indigo began to wonder when her next mission would be and if she could bring along Lenore. She knew the past missions that she had been assigned to were dangerous and mostly ended in close calls but Indigo knew that Lenore was strong and extremely skilled when it came to fighting.
“Hey, Lenny?” Indigo muttered as before taking a gulp of her water.
“Hm?” Came the reply.
“I want you to go on a mission with me.” Indigo looked over at her friend who was busy stretching on the fresh grass.
“I don’t know Indi.. Am i even allowed?” Indigo frowned. “Of course you are.. I think..”
Her friend laughed and shook her head. “Gee, that sounded convincing.”
“Well i don’t see why you wouldn’t be allowed!” Indigo flung her arms in the air angrily.
The truth was that Indigo had an argument with her Dad a few days before about it. The memory made Indigo scoff. As always, her Dad didn’t agree. The fight had lasted for at least half an hour before Indigo finally gave up.
“Yes you do Indi..” Lenore smiled, “but I guess i’ll join you next time.”
Indigo threw her fist in the air, celebrating silently. At that exact moment a blood curdling scream pierced the air, causing Indigo to jump to her feet. “Shit.” She muttered.
“Indi?” Lenore shot a worried glance to her best friend as she climbed to her feet.
“It looks like we just got a mission. Come on.” Indigo raced towards the area where the scream had come from with Lenore close behind.
The wailing had come from a large patch of trees near the two. People would normally go there to hunt or fish at the small lake that took up the middle of the mini forest.
The closer the girls had gotten to their destination, the more they could hear gory squelching and the crunching of something that remained unknown to the two.
“Shit Lenore, be careful and stay behind me.” Indigo whispered urgently to her friend as they began to slow down.
Lenore nodded in response and copied Indigos crouching position as they edged closer into the trees. They hid behind a large bush which Indigo guessed would cover them from the “things” view.
Indigo turned to her friend and signalled for her to stay down before slowly rising up so that she could look over the leaves. She almost gagged at the sight in front of her.
Hanging, with a branch sticking out of her tummy, was a girl. Indigo guessed that she went to her school. Sticky blood trickled down from the hole in her abdomen and from the wound that replaced her should’ve-been-there leg.
Colour drained from Indigos cheeks. She started to find it hard to breathe the more she took in.
“Wait a second..” Indigo mouthed, “Where’s the murderer?”
A lump formed in the girls throat as she gradually turned to her friend. The hairs on the back of her neck stood as Indigo saw a tall woman standing behind Lenore. No ordinary woman. A demon. Indigo took in the two horns which grew out of her hair and curled back like Ram horns. Her skin was pale and almost translucent. Her eyes were bright red with no pupil insight.
“Oh god..” Indigo muttered, “She’s hot..”
Lenore gulped as she stared at her friend, not daring to turn around.
“Indi?” She croaked, bottom lip quivering.
“Lenore.. Do not.. Move..” Indigo murmured, watching the demon smirk.
Lenore took a deep breath. She couldn’t make any sudden movements and she couldn’t turn around. Slowly her fingers twirled at her side until a razor-sharp mini spear had materialised in her hand.
Indigo knew what Lenore was planning almost immediately but she couldn’t yell at her or tell her to stop because that would just mean certain death. She could only watch. And pray.
The next thing that happened went by so fast Indigo could hardly believe that it had happened. In one swift turn, Lenore jabbed her spear into the what-was-supposed-to-be-a-sexy-demon-lady. The spear stuck into a decoy instead.
“Fuck!” The thunder using girl cursed, kicking the decoy over aggressively.
“Sh, indi.” Lenore slowly turned around, carefully examining her surroundings.
The trees around her swayed in anticipation as they watched the demon rise from a pile of dust on the ground. Lenore didn’t have time to warn her friend because it had seemed that Indigo sensed her before her friend did. Her jaw clenched as she swung her fist fiercely, her knuckles white and sparking.
The enemy flipped backwards, wild, ashen hair sailing along with her. As soon as her black heels dug into the dirt the demon kicked back and leant forward before charging at Indigo rapidly.
Horns met steel with an intense and deafening ‘clank.’
The demon reared back in pain as she clutched and clawed at her broken horn. Indigo smiled at Lenore gratefully who gave her a smug grin in return. The shield that Lenore had created to protect Indigo melted into the ground, leaving behind a puddle of silver liquid.
Indigo didn’t waste time as she yanked a throwing knife out of her sheathe and surged an electrical charge throughout her weapon. Lenore heaved out her gigantic double headed hammer with a small grunt. They shared a small nod before focusing on the howling demon.
Indigo counted under her breath.
1…
2…
3…
“Charge!” She barked, darting forward with her friend close behind.
Indigo lept into the air, twisting in the air like an acrobat before slicing the demons cracked skin open in multiple places. She winced as her enemy screeched in pure agony, blood pouring from the open wounds like red waterfalls.
Indigo silently watched as Lenore prepared to finish the woman off with a crippling swing of her hammer but as she brought her weapon down, the demon sunk back into the ground.
“The shit?!” Indigo punched the tree behind her out of impulse. (She soon regretted this afterwards.)
Lenore gasped as she spotted the demon leaning against a large trunk, standing on a sturdy branch.
“This will not be the last you see of me.. Indigo Sparks and Lenore Cole,” the woman spat and hissed as she accidently rubbed one of her cuts on the rough bark. “Not by a long shot..” Was her final words as she disintegrated into a pile of ash which got carried away with the harsh breeze.
“She was so fucking hot..” Indigo sighed as she sat on a trunk.
“Jesus you think every female on this planet is hot,” Lenore looked at her friend and laughed. “You’re so fucking gay..”
“I know..”
