"you're not going to die here." she doesn't even want to think about his search history. "besides, this place probably isn't actually haunted. it's just a rumor."

she turns away from Gintoki to pry open the broken door to the abandoned shrine building. they have a better chance of getting caught trespassing than actually coming across a ghost. or the rumored fox yokai that is said to inhabit this old shrine. and once she gets the door open, she turns to look over her shoulder at him.

"are you coming or not?"

She watches the boy as he seems to float about. A ghost, it looks like. But what’s he doing in here? Did he... die in the girl’s bathroom or something? Ghosts usually haunt the places they died so that has to be it, right? 

Finally, Kazumi turns to look away from the ghost boy, moving to go dry her hands off.

“That’s a load of crap.” Bullshit is more like it. Because she’s well aware Izaya loves everyone equally. It’s impossible for him to favor someone over the rest of humanity. Right? There’s only one reason he’d say something like that: he wants something from her.

Brows raise in suspicion. “You know you don’t have to use sweet talk to get something from me, right?”

it was late when rei's doorbell goes off repeatedly, causing her to drag herself out of bed. seriously, who's at her door at 3 in the morning?

"what is it?" she sounds a little pissed as she swings the door open. not even bothering to check who it was first. and behold. a drunk mahiru is at her door. leaning against the door frame looking like he's about to be sick. it's not a surprise to see him drunk. knows he's got a drinking problem. but to be at her door? she doesn't really know what to make of this.

"...what are you doing here? it's late."

   living in the city was much different than the countryside she was so used to. Since her family had relocated and her father had ended up moving for his job , she figured it would be the best time to explore. She wonders if anyone was following her around ;; her father was a powerful man , so she wouldn’t put it past him to hire someone to follow her. There were so many people , she was getting bumped into here and there , losing her balance and thanking herself for not listening when her stubborn persona didn’t want to take her cane today

Tatted hands are quick to retrieve and item when it’s dropped , but the owner is quickly getting away , only hoping her frail voice is enough to get his attention!!

Rei pauses, turns her head around to stare at at the informant. It’s an empty ‘ I love you ‘ but yet those words still manage to make her chest tighten, and her cheeks feel warm. The room is silent. Just the two of them staring at each other. Finally, Rei breaks eye contact. Her gaze averting to the side. 

“W-where’s this coming from all of a sudden?” She tries her best to keep an even voice, but it cracks nonetheless. Izaya has a twisted love for people. This isn’t the first time she’s heard these words come out of his mouth. But this time, she can’t quite hear that casual tone he usually has when proclaiming his love to the human race. “...I hope your not expecting me to say it back or something...”

Because we all know an ‘ I love you ‘ from izaya isn’t really an actual confession of love. And Rei isn’t quite sure she can say it back knowing this.
