It'd been a long week for the demon and all she wanted was to kick up her feet at a local bar and drink booze while she was hit on by what she considered lowlifes. That didn't happen. Instead, Meg found herself alone in a field, eyes darting madly for some sign of something familiar. Every twenty-or-so minutes, a car would blaze down the dirt road and once or twice Meg thought about hitching a ride.
She didn't. The demon remained alone, listening to the sound of wind rattle the phone wires. Her hopes rose when she thought she saw a figure walking down the road.
