This Isn't My Idea of Fun
Lestrade parked his car and slammed the door shut. He crossed the parking lot as quickly as he could, but just as he approached the front stoop of his home, his progress was stopped short. A sturdy hand grasped his shoulder and jerked him backwards- not a difficult feat, under the circumstances.
The concrete came up to meet him much too quickly- and how ironic that the streets were empty!- and his head spun with the force. A fist smashed into his face, on the cheek, and then more blows rained down on his chest and stomach.
The sudden violence left him stunned on the concrete for several long moments. He curled in on himself and rolled onto his side to protect his abdomen instinctively. The barrage lifted a moment and he took advantage of it, jumping at the nearest brute.
He punched and kicked desperately and resisted the hands behind him. He went down again, wincing at the already forming bruises beneath his suit. The detective growled and kicked until the barrage stopped with one man pinning him down with a foot on his chest.
"The hell are you?" He demanded hoarsely. "You keep your hands off of her!"
The burly man put his weight on the detective's chest and then kicked his side with the other leg, eliciting a loud yelp from the older man. With that, the trio left as Lestrade struggled up to his feet and pressed to the door, worried about Kary, wanting to get out of the street, and considering calling for an ambulance or asking John to have a look, just in case.

Hey Greg, does Moriarty still bug you?
As in drop by unexpectedly or harass me online or over the phone? He hasn't lately. But if you mean, does he still bother me or scare me, yes. I am terrified of him.
Popping offline to sleep. Good night, Tumblrpeeps
Mittens out
Sorry, I tried to be "hip" do I sound old yet?
No, don't answer that. Night peeps.
I'm going to go to the gym. I've been laying around the house all day after training for my job, so I'm getting antsy. Back later, all~
in prison with mycroft, who was wrongly arrested. Ask Moriarty
Now look-
Lestrade paused. Moriarty. Ask Moriarty. He would have every reason to send Mycroft to prison any way he could. He could cover it up, too.
I'm not going out of my way to strike up conversation with Jim Moriarty, not even for-
Lestrade frowned, unable to finish the sentence. Was he that cruel?
Thank you for your assistance.
His gruff reply betrayed the emotions running rampant in his chest.
